Chapter 19

VLANN

I’m goingto kill the human known as Gregory Whitworth.

Not tonight, but soon. I can’t stop thinking about the threats he made to my mate and her parents. Even though a rotation has passed since Amira broke things off from him in the restaurant, and even though Amira is now my lifemate, I cannot abide the smallest danger to my sweet human.

Amira is sleeping and I lean down to kiss her forehead before leaving her bedroom. We’re staying the night with her parents and we’ll probably stay for at least one more rotation before we return to my residence. I stand above her bed and watch her sleeping for several moments, then I turn and quietly depart her room.

The house is dark and silent. I creep downstairs and slip outside, into the warm night air. I get into my hovercar and fire up my dashboard computer system, the one that easily tracked Amira’s location. I input Gregory’s wrist comm number into the system and put a permanent track on him. I can spy on his current location at any time from my own wrist comm or from my hovercar’s dashboard.

Once I determine Gregory is at his parents’ estate, I guide my vehicle away from the Swan residence and head toward his location. It would be easy to sneak into his residence and kill him tonight, but I’ll need to make it look like an accident. A robbery gone wrong, or perhaps a drug overdose. This will require a bit of planning, but until then, I resolve to know his location at all times.

I park my hovercar a safe distance from his family’s estate and slip through the shadows, my pocket filled with small tracers. There are five hovercars in front of the house. First, I attach a tracer to the bottom of the blue hovercar, as I know it’s Gregory’s personal vehicle. Next, I attach tracers to the remaining hovercars, just in case he uses one of them. I want to stay informed of his possible location at all times, just in case he has a habit of going places without his wrist comm. Given his frequent clandestine activities, I would not be surprised.

After I use my wrist comm to test that the tracers are active and functioning properly, I scale the side of the house, climbing to the third floor as I follow the tracking signal that leads me to his wrist comm. He’s sleeping in a large bed, his arm draped over a blonde Marryyn female. Well, he apparently isn’t waiting long to move on after losing Amira, I think. But then I consider that perhaps he was never faithful to her in the first place. My rage toward the dishonorable human male surfaces anew.

When the time comes, I’m going to enjoy killing him.
