She shook her head quickly. “No. I swear.”
I grabbed the sheet, putting it around her as I made my way toward the door. When I glanced in the peephole, I was confused. I grabbed my gun, cocked it, and opened the door, aiming it at the guy. “Who the fuck are you and why are you at my door in the middle of a fucking rainstorm?” I gritted.
He, himself, seemed confused. “Sorry. I was looking for someone.”
“Who nigga because you’re out here like you trying to find your way back to fucking OZ.”
I thought he was looking at me, but I noticed he was looking past me. “Lakia!” he called out.
I turned to see her standing behind me, “Who is this nigga Sukalati and why is he at my fucking house?”
Her eyes widened as her mouth opened. “It’s Kirk, my ex.”
LAKIA
Panic set in as Monfua not only looked at me with confusion, but disappointment. While Kirk grinned widely. “You invited this goofy brain games ass nigga to my house?” Monfua asked.
I stepped closer because I wanted to try to explain. “Fua, I—”
“Answer the question, Sukalati.”
Kirk chuckled. “Sukalati? Wait, you call her chocolate?”
Monfua smirked. “And the bitch got a smart mouth.”
Whap!
He hit Kirk right in his face. “Fua,no!” I shouted.
He turned to me as his toffee skin held a deep red hue. He was mad. “Fuck you mean no? How the nigga know where I live? Huh?”
My nerves were getting the best of me as I tried not to cry. Everything had been going so well. Now I was back to square one. “He. I mean, we shared locations, and I forgot to turn it off.”
Kirk held his nose as he glanced at me. “Lakia, you’re going to let him assault me. It’s clear he’s an abuser. You don’t need this.”
Monfua closed the door right in his face. “Fuck him.”
I rushed over toward the door. “Let me get him to leave,” I said.
“Lakia, if you walk out my door for a nigga you claim is your ex, don’t come back. I don’t give a fuck about the circumstances.”
I froze. Monfua and I were just at the good part, but I knew how conniving Kirk could be. I knew if I said nothing, he would keep finding ways to ruin everything I had. I honestly needed Monfua to trust me. “All I’m trying to do is keep him away. You have to trust me.”
He laughed. “Trust? We lay up for a night, and now I’m supposed to trust a woman who didn’t even want me until she was backed into a corner with nowhere else to turn. I like you a lot, but I’m also not a fool. Like I said, if you leave, do not come the fuck back.”
I knew that I needed to make the right decision.Should I stay, and Kirk finds a different way to destroy my happiness, or should I stop him now and hope Monfua sees me trying and doesn’t push me away?I glanced at the door, then at Monfua. My heart begged for the love, but my mind knew the outcome. None of this shit was supposed to happen this way. However, I knew I needed to do the right thing.
I turned to see Monfua walking toward the back. My head dropped back as I closed my eyes. “Monfua,” I called out.
He turned to look at me, but didn’t say anything. “I’m staying with you,” I said as I ran down the hall and wrapped my arms around his neck.
He picked me up and kissed me. I kissed him with every piece of passion I had inside. My legs wrapped around his waist as he slammed me against the hall wall. Our noses pressed together while our panting said it all. He tussled with his pants, then lifted the sheet that was wrapped around me. Suddenly, he entered me. My mouth opened as my body shot up, then came down slowly. We both let out a sharp breath.
My arms around his neck became tighter as he fucked me where we stood. Every time I went to say something, he sent my body up.
Up, then down.
“Sukalati, you are mine.”
