Doesn’t mean the words aren’t tearing my heart out of my chest.

“You’re right. I’m sorry. That’s not fair to you. Shit. You said go slow and here I am telling you I love you and?—”

His mouth on mine cuts off the words spilling from my lips, his teeth nipping at my flesh as he pushes me harder against the truck.

“Shut up.”

“Sorry.”

He makes a strangled noise, the fact that I’m still not doing the right thing loud and clear. “Just because you’re intent on pushingallmy buttons doesn’t mean I’m not out of my mind foryou. Because I am, Jesse. I’m completely and hopelessly in love with you.”

“I’m sensing a but…” I tease, sliding my hands down to cup his ass.

“I need you to get inside and get naked because after everything you put me through, everything you putusthrough, I need to take my frustration out on someone.”Oh, thank God.“So move your ass, baby, because that someone isyou.”

ADRIAN

The house is quiet, Jesse’s naked body draped over me as he sleeps, the moonlight casting shadows onto the walls.

And I’ve never been so at peace.

It’s this house and him and a million promises we made while we made love, while he cried out my name.

“You’re supposed to be sleeping,” he murmurs, snuggling closer in a way that is both endearing and makes me keenly aware of how hot he runs.

“I was just thinking how much I like it here.”

“That’s good because my bed is way better than yours.”

“Why?”

“It’s bigger.”

“Why does that matter? You’re still on top of me,” I tease, running my fingers through his hair.

“You like it. And we had plenty of room for all the ways you wanted to fuck me earlier.”

“Even half asleep you still have a mouth on you.”

“You like that too.”

“What’s your family gonna say about us?”

“Probably we told you so.” He huffs, leaning up to look at me, a shy smile on his face. “My mom will be asking when we’re adopting a couple of dogs.”

“Dogs?”

“It’s the next phase of her plan. Dogs then kids and I’m definitely not ready for kids. I’m selfish and I’m going to need you all to myself for a while.”

“Is that right?”

“Definitely. There’s no way you could do half the stuff you did to me tonight if we had kids.”

“Youarepretty loud.”

“Yeah, well, I’m only like that with you.” The admission has him blushing, his cheeks darkening in the low light.
