While I didn’t thinkthat Ludolf would be stupid enough to have his sights set on harming either me or Fallon, I didn’t like feeling stranded on the island.
However, I would manage to keep her safe. In the meantime, the need to touch and taste this woman was a powerful thing.
Alive.
Excited.
Goddamn, the woman made me feel like I was walking on air. She had no idea that awakening the beast inside meant he could never return to his cage.
All the pent-up emotions had breached the surface, the passion so intense it couldn’t be shoved aside.
The thought kept my mouth watering and my cock twitching.
Hunting.
I’d promised to hunt Fallon down if she tried to escape and I’d meant what I’d said.
All the anger I’d felt after leaving the meeting had disappeared the moment I’d seen Ludolf with his hands onher. The rage had further dissipated when she’d thought Bella couldn’t be found, the racking sobs unexpected.
She was hurting to the point she couldn’t control her emotions.
Two things were now crawling through my mind.
The need to protect.
And the need to fuck.
She was right in that we were two different people from two entirely different worlds, but at that moment, that didn’t matter. Especially when I could feel the urgent need deep inside that was the same as mine. The way the corners of her mouth upturned the moment I started to wrap the silky tie around her wrists fueled the extreme hunger.
I couldn’t take my eyes off her.
Maybe she’d already become my weakness, but people like Hoffman underestimated what I was capable of. Or perhaps Fallon was right in that this riddle being played out had everything to do with our pasts.
Shifting, I turned on the water in the shower, never allowing my eyes to drift away because I knew under the emotional layer I’d seen before was a woman full of mischief. I’d been right. She definitely was the kind of woman who didn’t like to follow rules.
Enthralling, but dangerous.
I would need to do whatever it took to keep her in line. A challenge that I could sink my teeth into. When the water was warm, I returned to where she was standing, swaying her hips back and forth provocatively.
I pulled her closer, cupping the side of her face and tenderly pressing my lips against hers. She didn’t fight me or stiffen as I’d thought she would only minutes before.
Maybe this entire moment was way too emotional, but the closeness was exactly what we needed.
Kissing her was unlike doing so with any other woman. This kiss wasn’t soft and inviting. It was raw and all-consuming as our needs collided with everything we’d been through. And in that beautiful moment, all time ceased to exist.
I tugged her closer to the shower and she gave me a hard look. “You’re leaving me tied as if I’m your prisoner. You don’t play fair.”
“As of this moment, you are and what’s the fun in playing fair?” As soon as we were inside and I’d closed the door, I started the shower, the two rain heads hitting us immediately.
Her squeal brought a slight howl from Bella and Fallon laughed, using both hands at the same time to try to push me away.
I was having none of it.
I’d purposely left a long tail on the bindings, which I took into my hand and wrapped around the top of the one showerhead.
“Oh, you did not just do that,” she complained.
“I did.”
