I got the women outside but that was as far as we got before Jayme paused.
“You’re moving too fast,” she grumbled.
“Yeah. Slow down,” Dyani agreed.
“Come on. Somebody hop up.” I took a knee.
“Go for it. It’s your birthday.” Dyani gestured toward me.
“It’s your man,” Jayme argued.
“But—”
I cut her off. “Come on, Dyani.”
“Are you sure?” she asked.
“Yeah.” Me and Jayme answered at the same time.
Dyani hopped on my back. I stood up.
“Touch your toes, Jaybird.”
She wiggled her eyebrows at me. I scoffed and shook my head.
“In front of my sisters?” she teased but bent down anyway.
She wobbled immediately but it didn’t matter. I wrapped my arm around the center of her body and plucked her up, tuckingher against my side. I rushed through the crowd toward my truck with Janine and Janari trailing us.
I let the three sisters get in the back together and helped Dyani into the front. I dropped Janine and Janari both to Janari’s house then headed to the building Jayme and Dyani both lived in.
“So,” Jayme popped her head between the two seats, “Whose place? Yours or mine?” She turned to face Dyani.
She didn’t hesitate. “Yours.”
Jayme nodded. “Let’s go.”
I shook my head but didn’t comment.
“Alright. Let’s get you ladies tucked in.”
“Tucked in?” Jayme repeated. “Arris, we’re not going to sleep.”
“Oh. For real?” I lifted an eyebrow.
“It’s her birthday,” Dyani said. “You have to make her wish come true.”
“Her wish or both of y’alls wish?” I asked seriously.
Dyani batted her eyelashes at me. She looked from me to Jayme, back and forth, then cleared her throat. I chuckled.
“I’ll take that as both of y’all.” I pulled my keys out of the ignition. “Let’s go upstairs and see how we feel.”
“I feel like we’re going to be fucking,” Jayme sang and danced in her seat.
Jayme was wild normally, but damn she was even wilder when she was drunk, not that I was complaining.
I hopped out of my whip and walked around, helping each of the women out. The almost hour between them getting their last drinks and us finally getting here had allowed them to sober up a little bit. I supported them both up to Jayme’s spot and used my key to let us inside.
