Finn hadn’t expectedher to agree. He was so sure she was going to run out of the room, say that everything they did was a mistake, and demand he never talk to her again. He had expected it, waited for it, but it never came.
Instead, she crawled into bed and went to sleep. Granted, she turned away from him and pushed her body towards the complete edge of the bed while using the comforter as a makeshift wall between them, but still, she stayed.
Finn expected sleep to come to him, but it didn’t. He was hyperaware of her body next to him and instead of soothing him, it made his body go crazy. It was as if there was an electrical pull that kept shocking him, reminding him that he wasn’t alone.
He had always preferred his isolation, especially with sexual partners. They would fuck, but there was no cuddling afterward or spending the night. It was a one and done thing for him. Hell, he usually didn’t bring anyone into his bed to fuck either. It was either somewhere public or in their bed. His space was his. He still wasn’t cuddling with Gianna, and she had barged in, but this was different.
Hewantedto fucking cuddle. Hewantedher to stay.
So, when he was sure that she was sleeping from the even breaths escaping her perfect lips, he shifted her body, pulling her into his arms. She was so fucking light, it was scary how easily he was able to move her body around.
She was strict with her regime. He saw it when he was doing hisresearch. She worked out like crazy and then pushed her body to extreme lengths while she practiced her dance. God, she reminded him of himself in so many ways.
Gianna shot up, looking around the room in confusion. “Where am I?” she asked groggily.
“You’re sleeping in my room. At least you were sleeping like two seconds ago,” he said, letting out a huff. “You freaked me the fuck out.”
“What am I supposed to think when someone just starts moving my body?”
“Oh, so now you have situational awareness?”
She pushed his chest, forcing him to fall back on the mattress. “What were you even doing?”
He thought about it for a moment. The truth was honestly more humiliating now that she was awake.
“You were about to fall off the bed,” he lied.
“I didn’t feel myself falling.”
“Yeah, because I caught you.”
She huffed, lying back down, this time on her back. “Whatever.”
He took note of how much closer she was this time but didn’t voice it out loud. He didn’t need her moving right back to the same spot she was in before only to have the same situation happen again.
“What time is it?” she asked.
“Almost five.”
“I should probably leave soon, before they start waking up.”
“If you want.”
She rolled her eyes. “It’s not if I want, it’s a must. Could you imagine what would happen if they caught us in here together? I have no idea where my shorts and underwear are and all you’re wearing is a pair of boxers. There’s no lie in the world that would be able to get either of us out of that one.”
“Why would I need to lie?” he asked. “I would simply just tell them I ate your pussy.”
She slapped her hands over her face, muttering something he couldn’t hear. She ran them through her hair before turning her body, so she was now on her side facing him. “Do you mean to be this infuriating or is this really how you are?”
“I thought you knew me well enough by this point to know the answer to that.” Finn couldn’t help his grin. “You know, for someone who swears they don’t want anything to do with me, you have no issue finding yourself in compromising situations with me time and time again.”
“I came in here for answers.”
Her voice wavered as if she didn’t believe herself fully either. Hell, she was smart. Of course she knew that wasn’t the real reason she had come in.
“I’m sure you did, princess, but you seemed to stay for something else.”
Gianna’s face fell. Her lips pushed out into the cutest pout—unintentionally, it seemed. Finn had to stop himself from leaning in to press a kiss to her lips.
