Well, this ain't good.

"Lilah, c'mon," he urges, giving my hand a light squeeze.

"I can't, Grey," I take a deep breath. If I'm passing out, I better do it soon, this hurts like a mother trucker.

He bends, his hand trailing up from my hand to my arm. My biceps, oh yeah, I bet he's never felt anything as strong as those boys.

"What is it?" he questions, looking over me for visible injuries.

"My knee," I whisper and he looks down at the scarred one automatically. He raises his hand over it.

"If you touch it, I'm going to cut your fingers off and cook them into a stew."

His eyes dart up to mine. A smirk reaches his lips and I almost gasp. Wowzer, he's attractive.

"Do you like onions? They'll be in it," I add, gritting my teeth together in pain.

"This isn't the orthopedist," I observe as Grey turns onto the driveway of a pretty colonial-style house.

I hate to think he's going to kidnap me, because how cliche is that? But, it's not looking too good.

"Grey," he ignores me.

"Grey-y-y," I drag out his name.

"Sugar?" he looks over at me and I smile internally. His hand on the wheel jerks to the left a bit and he purposefully runs over a pothole.

My knee moves and I wince in pain.

Apparently, he doesn't understand that my knee could actually fall off.

"Your pain tolerance is shit," he grumbles and I mock him silently. He has no idea.

He parks near the entrance of the house and I look up at it in awe.

"Is this yours?" I question.

"A friend of mine's," he actually answers.

"You have friends?" I question and he glares at me harshly before getting out and starting to walk to my side.

He opens my door and I unbuckle my seatbelt. Just like at the store, he lifts me with no problem.

Beginning to go up the porch steps, my leg wiggles a bit and I grip the back of this shirt tightly.

"Where are we?"

"Dr. Wernier is a friend of mine who does favors for my guys sometimes," he explains and I listen intently.

"Who are your guys?" I ask and he stays quiet for a while.

"Friends," he replies.

I wish I had that.

He presses the doorbell and steps back to wait.
