I almost tear up at lying after we had specifically agreed to not keep anything from each other anymore.
I wish I was as bad of a liar as him.
"Who's this?" a feminine voice asks. Is it Jonas? I laugh internally at myself. I know it's the new girl.
Neither Grey or I answer I guess thinking each other was going to say something.
"Hello?" she slightly laughs. I look up at him and he looks at me. He narrows his eyes a slight bit once which says 'talk.'
I narrow mine once back which says 'no you crackhead.'
"I said hello?" she continues and Grey's eyes fall to my lips when I roll my bottom one into my mouth nervously.
I feel bad for ignoring her, I really do. But I just can't seem to talk.
"These are my two mute buddies," Theo pops up between us.
"He's not mute," she points to Grey.
"Whoop-"
"You're wrong," Lincoln joins in, "Grey has selective mutism."
"He talks when he wants to? Everyone has that," she rolls her eyes.
"Uh-"
"He has one of the worst cases," Jai comes up to us from behind me.
Grey's jaw ticks at the situation that I kinda got us into.
"His girlfriend is on a no-speaking strike. She's also a politician. She wants to be the president of the United States. She's a vegan right now though," he says like being a vegan is a job. Then he loudly hiccups.
"I just ate four shots," he mumbles, "I mean drinked. Or drank. Or drink-ted. Maybe it's drunk. No,I'mdrunk. Actually no, I'm tipsy.Errybody in this bitch gettin' tipsy."
"Azalea, keep doing you, honey bunches of oats," he pats my head. Honey bunches of oats? He's definitely not justtipsy.
"And Grey?" he says.
"What?" Grey grumbles.
"I'll tell you what I was thinkin' when I remember it," he starts walking away, attempting to give the peace sign but instead he sticks out his thumb and pointer finger.
At least he's not a mean drunk. I wish dad was a funny drunk. Or not ever drunk at all.
"We're gonna go make sure he doesn't drink anymore," the two guys leave and Grey, the girl, and I are left alone again.
"So girlfriend?" she looks over at me and I feel intimidated by her gaze.
What am I saying? I can't be intimidated by her, I'm the one who intimidates The Rock. I'm a badbutt.
"Yes," I smile looking at her, "I'm Azalea."
Her eyes are like freaking ice. Is she from Earth? Oh gosh.
"Cute," a forced smile reaches her lips. I would like to leave please.
"Younger girls, huh?" she turns to Grey and he tenses. Why is it that she's making me feel so utterly terrible about myself?
