Epilogue

April

Three Months Later

“This is crazy.” I stared at my reflection in the mirror one last time and took in my appearance. The beading on the wedding gown shimmered in the early afternoon sun and combined with the hair and makeup, and the veil, I looked like a star in my very own fairytale.

“It’s crazy that your stint as a baby mama led you to the love of your life?” Kelsie came up from behind and straightened the skirts on my dress and laid the veil around my shoulders. “Or it’s crazy how good you look just two months after popping out a baby?”

“Yes, to all of that, but I meant it’s crazy that I’m getting married today. How did we plan a wedding so quickly?” I wasn’t nervous at all, just a little shocked by the whirlwind nature of everything.

“A big mountain of cash and a gorgeous gangster who wouldn’t let anyone stand in the way of marrying you. That’s incredibly hot by the way and as your sister from another mister, I have to say that I approve of the way that man loves you.”

My expression softened and a silly smile crossed my face. “It is pretty intoxicating to be loved so fully, so intensely by a guy like Igor.” He hadn’t wanted to wait to get married and neither did I, so here we were. “Okay, I’m ready. How do I look?”

“Gorgeous. In fact, I’m pretty sure you’re going to be having another baby is approximately forty-two weeks,” she joked.

“If you play your cards right, maybe we can be pregnant at the same time. And our kids will be cousins.”

She rolled her eyes but not even Kelsie could stop the blush that crawled up her body. “Jacob and I are not there.”

“Yet,” I added just as the wedding coordinator knocked on the door to give us the five minute warning. “You’re not there yet and I don’t know why. You’ve known each other forever and you’re already living together. Hop to it.”

“Let’s get you married first and then we can worry about me, yeah?”

“Deal. In about fifteen minutes, I’ll be Mrs. Romanov and then I’ll get started on making you my sister for real.”

Kelsie groaned as the door opened, and Ivan stepped inside. Since that day at the shed, he’d been my side nonstop. Igor assigned him to my personal protection and today his job was even more important, it was to keep our son safe. “Boris wanted to see his mama all done up.”

I smiled and accepted my son for a quick cuddle. “Uncle Ivan just wanted to make sure mama didn’t get into any trouble before the ceremony.”

He smiled but didn’t deny it.

Soon enough it was time to marry the love of my life. Jacob waited with a smile to walk me down the aisle while Kelsie and Maxim walked down the aisle. “You ready for this?”

“More than ready,” I assured my brother.

“I’m glad you got something out of this, April. I’ll never be able to thank you for what you’ve done, but seeing you happy? It means the fucking world to me.”

“Thank you, Jacob. All I want is to annoy you for as long as humanly possible.”

“You do that well,” he grumbled.

“And you’re lucky I promised Kelsie not to meddle untilafterI was married.”

He stumbled a step as he walked me down the aisle and handed me off to Igor. “Treat her well,” he demanded before he kissed my cheek and took a seat beside Ivan and Boris.

The sight of Igor in a tuxedo was too much. He was beautiful and I couldn’t look away.

The love in his eyes and the smile that curved his lips made my heart race in my chest, and my thighs clenched beneath the skirt of my dress. I barely heard a word the priest said because I was too focused on the man in front of me, of the life we were building together, and on the night ahead.

“You may kiss the bride.”

I blinked and the ceremony was over but thankfully Igor seemed just as surprised as I was.

“You heard the man,” he grinned and tilted me backwards before he kissed me so thoroughly, I dragged him up the aisle and right into the bridal suite. “April?”

“You kiss me like that when we haven’t had sex in two months, what do you expect?” My hands went to his waistband and slipped inside where he was hot and hard. Ready.
