“OK. Let’s throw down our weapons at the same time.”

Harris inched over to the coffee table, while Wolf moved closer to the dining room table, taking the lamp with him as far as it would go. On three, they both put their water bottles down, and they laughed.

“You’re fucking crazy. Look at this place.” Harris motioned to the water splats that covered the floor, the couch, and the coffee table. “The nachos are ruined.”

Wolf laughed harder. “It solved the problem down south, though, didn’t it?”

That was the fucking truth. Harris cleaned up the water, Wolf made more nachos, and they reconvened on the couch. Wolf started to rewind the episode, which they paused after the water fight, and Harris remembered the infamous scene that started the whole thing. “Wait!” he said with a chuckle. “Don’t go back too far.”

Wolf grunted a laugh, glanced at Harris with twinkling eyes, but stopped right after the two dudes were pulling up their pants.

It took a few seconds to concentrate after seeing that image and being reminded of the sex scene, but the dialogue and plot pulled them back into the show right away. They spent the next few hours watching Animal Kingdom until Harris spotted the time on his phone. “Shit. It’s late. I better run. I got a million things to do before we leave for the tour.”

“Me too. Let’s finish this on the bus or at one of the hotels.” Wolf shut the TV, and they both started walking toward the front door.

“Good idea.”

“Do you think Amy is going to join us on the tour bus?” Wolf asked.

“Maybe. Probably. She’s cool. I like her.”

“Me too. I’ll have to remember to wear pants on the bus if she joins us.”

“And flush the toilet.”

Wolf raised his hands in the air, and his brows practically rose up to his hairline. “It was one time!”

It was a lot more than one time, but Harris wasn’t going to argue. He smiled at his friend and opened his arms. “Great time as usual. Thanks for the nachos and the bath.”

“Anytime, bruh. Home safe.”

They shared a hug with several pats on the back, and then Harris left. As he started his car, he looked back at the doorway and waved to Wolf, who was still standing there watching him. Wolf waved back, then went inside and shut the door. Harris let out a long sigh, but his heart was full because of how close the two of them became over the last month. The tour, where they’d be together practically 24/7, would only strengthen their bond.Hopefully, by the time the tour was over, their relationship would be in a very different place.

CHAPTER SEVEN

After the longest goodbye kiss in history, Ethan finally boarded the bus.

“Did you take his tongue with you,” Wolf joked. “We could’ve been halfway to Sacramento by now.”

“I wish I tookhimwith me.” Ethan sighed, took a seat next to the window, and rested the palm of his hand on the glass, staring at Tyler as the bus drove off.

Wolf turned to Marshall who was sitting across from him with a less-than-excited look on his face. Everyone should be pumped about starting the tour but half of their band looked like they just lost their best friend. “Are you gonna be mopey too?” he asked Marshall.

“No. It’s just that me and Amy are new, and tours have a way of tearing relationships apart.”

“Don’t worry about it. Everything’ll be fine. We have a two-week break in a month before we head to Rocktoberfest and finish the tour. It’ll roll around before you know it.”

“I’m not waiting that long. I’m flying Amy out in about a week, when we have a couple of days off. I’m not letting a girl like her get away.”

“Good for you.” Wolf nodded, happy his friend was in a serious relationship. He only wished he could say the same.

Ethan sighed and placed a food container on the table in front of him.

“What’s that?” Wolf asked.

“Brownies. Tyler’s old neighbor made them for us for the ride.”

“Homemade brownies?” Wolf snatched the container, pulled off the lid, and took a big bite out of one of the brownies. It was dark and chewy and delicious. “Mmm. You gotta try one. If this doesn’t cheer you up, nothing will.”
