The sexy, seductive look of euphoria across Jeremy’s face renewed Alan’s endorphins, and his cock suddenly regained life. The orgasm that had abated only a few seconds before suddenly rejuvenated into a full throttle overload of sensations and he came, again, this time convulsing like a maniac.
Eventually, his body settled and Jeremy covered him with soft kisses. They rolled over, arms encircling the other, the sticky wetness of their lovemaking sealing their bodies together. Exhausted, Alan drifted off to sleep with his best friend and lover in his arms.
The sunlight hit Alan like a flash of lightning, but he didn’t open his eyes. He had too much weight on his mind. There was movement on the bed next to him, and the sheet was stolen from him, exposing his right shoulder and leg. He listened to the even breathing and remained still. Was that really Jeremy lying next to him, asleep? He squinted one eye open. The long dark hair splayed across the sheets confirmed that last night was real. He gulped down the reality of what had happened and contemplated whether or not he regretted it. No. He had wanted this. And so had Jeremy. He sat with his back against the headboard and touched his friend’s shoulder. “Hey. Jeremy.”
Jeremy came to life with a long, cat-like stretch and a loud yawn. He rolled over so he was facing Alan and propped his head up on his hand. He broke out into a broad smile, and an erotic chuckle slipped past his lips. “Hi.” He slid closer and reached out to place a hand on Alan’s thigh.
Alan tensed, mainly because they were holed up in the bedroom while everyone else was in the front of the bus. He could already smell the coffee brewing, which meant that at least Cam was awake.
“Are you freaked out?” Jeremy’s smile faded and his brow wrinkled. “Please don’t be freaked out. Please don’t tell me you’re sorry we slept together.”
“No. I’m not. It’s just that… how are we supposed to explain this? There are no other dudes in here with us. I don’t want everyone to know what happened.”
A sad frown accompanied the worried crease in Jeremy’s forehead. “You don’t want them to know?”
“Do you? I don’t know what this is, Jeremy. And until we figure it out, I don’t want to explain it to everyone. This is a little weird.”
“Weird? Is that what you think this is? Weird?”
“No. Yeah. I don’t know.” The hurt look on Jeremy’s face was killing Alan. “C’mon, Jeremy. Don’t look at me like that. You gotta admit that this is strange. It’syou. The kid I bragged to the first time I got laid. The kid who I stayed out with all night when I went to my first gay bar. The kid I smoked my first joint with. The kid who let me sleep over at his house when I got too drunk on my 16thbirthday to go home. You’re like my brother, Jeremy.”
The warmth that flickered in Jeremy’s eyes at the recap of their friendship quickly faded with Alan’s last statement. “Is that how you think of me? Like your brother?”
“Yeah. Until the last few weeks.” Alan traced his fingers down the perimeter of Jeremy’s cheek and over his friend’s scruffy jaw. It made his heart quicken, and he sighed with contentment. “Now I look at you very differently.”
The smile that lit up Jeremy’s face was brighter than the sunlight that sliced through the window. “The last few weeks?”
Alan nodded. “I guess that’s why I was so freaked out. Something happened that night in the dark bedroom, and I don’t just mean you gave me head. A switch flipped inside me, and all of a sudden you weren’t just my boyhood friend.” Alan shrugged. “I still don’t know how to explain it. I still can’t believe it.” He ran a soothing hand through Jeremy’s long hair. “That’s why I don’t want to tell the guys about us yet. If they ask, can we just say that we dropped some guys off a couple of hours ago, while everyone was asleep, and we were too exhausted to go back to our own bunks?”
Jeremy was quiet for a few seconds, and one side of his lips drew back into a smirk. “You’re worried they’re gonna ask why we woke up in the same bed. Alone.”
Alan looked away, embarrassed that his inability to deal with the twist in their relationship dimmed some of the joy in Jeremy’s eyes. “I’m sorry.” He placed an apologetic kiss on Jeremy’s lips and rested his hand on Jeremy’s cheek. “Please don’t be mad.”
Jeremy exhaled and nuzzled Alan’s palm. “I’m not mad. I get it. This is still new. Not just for us, but for them too.”
They pulled on their clothing and exited the bedroom together. Cramped in the narrow corridor that led to the kitchen area, Alan was overcome with the smell of sex. It was all over the two of them, a reminder of a night that he still couldn’t believe actually happened.
“It sounds like Cam’s making breakfast.” Jeremy’s hand went to his belly. “I don’t know about you, but I’m starved.”
Alan nudged Jeremy in the shoulder so he’d keep walking, and tried to tone down his telltale smile.
Cam was at the stovetop humming along to Bring Me the Horizon’sHappy Song. “Coffee’s on the table,” he said with a wave of his spatula.
Alan slid into one side of the booth and Jeremy took the seat across from him. The table was already set with plates, cups, and utensils. Traveling with Cam was pretty fucking cool.
Jeremy poured coffee into Alan’s cup before filling his own, and then handed Alan a packet of sweetener with an endearing smile. The simple act, which had been done so many times in the past, held a special meaning this morning.
Alan emptied the packet into the cup and tossed in some creamer. He stirred his coffee, watching the liquid lighten to a warm chestnut. He fought the urge to look up at Jeremy. The guy was all smiles and full of attentive little gestures. It was a bullseye on the newfound rapport between the two, when they were supposed to be acting inconspicuous, and Alan was trying his best to hold back his own goofy smile.
Cam placed a plate of scrambled eggs and toast in the middle of the table. “Eat up. We won’t be in Oklahoma City for another two hours.”
Alan’s stomach rumbled. “Thanks, Cam. You’re aces.”
“Just happy to be sharing this tour with you guys.”
Brandon snuck up behind Cam and grabbed him around the waist. Cam jumped and let out a happy laugh before landing a kiss on his lover’s mouth.
Alan watched them, so in love and so enamored with one another. He glanced at Jeremy, also watching the two, and wondered if they would ever share what Brandon and Cam had. A small smile covered Alan’s lips. He couldn’t believe he was even thinking about it.
