Killian pretends he is not amused, but I can tell he is.

Shaking his head, he continues. “So onto part two of this discussion. This is where you come in.”

 Here we go.

“In the same way Daisy likes both Leander and I, I like both Daisy and you, Gray. I was hoping that you could consider having the same kind of… relationship… that Leander and I are aiming for with Daisy?”

 “Sharing is caring.”

 “Exactly.”

“And how would Daisy feel about that?”

“I already told her I had feelings for both you and her, but we can talk to her together if you like?”

I am not sure what kind of response I’m supposed to give, so I keep my mouth shut.

“And,” says Leander, “I also want to raise something.”

“Of course you do,” I mutter. That little fucker.

“I think you like Daisy too,” he says.

 “What! Don’t be ridiculous…” I splutter.

“I’ve seen the way your eyes follow her wherever she goes. We all see you rushing to get her water, or picking out the nicest fruit for her…just admit it, broseph. You like her too.”

I look from Leander to Killian, then over to the rocks where I can see Key and Daisy.

Oh fuck. What’s the point of denying it? What’s the point of hiding anything? We are on a fucking deserted island, and might be here for the rest of our lives.

“Yeah, alright, there may be some feelings I have for her.” I realize that I’m basically grunting out these words like a caveman, but hopefully they can understand what I’m saying. “But it’s mostly just wanting to protect her. She seems vulnerable.”

“And when your gaze is glued to that sweet ass of hers? That’s just because you want to protect it?”

 Fucking Leander.

“What the fuck do you want me to say? She turns me on? Yeah, she does, I’m human. But it doesn’t mean…”

“Doesn’t mean what?” asks Killian gently.

I rub my hand over my face, and Killian steps forwards and circles his arms around me. “Don’t beat yourself up, you like me and you like her. It’s OK, that’s what we came to tell you.”

It’s OK to be into two people at once? And those two people are different genders? It’s something I would never have considered in my wildest dreams. But I guess we are all living a pretty wild life now.

In just a few short weeks my heart, which usually sat like a heavy, still lump in my chest, had been restarted with a Daisy and Killian shaped defibrillator. The two of them? They called to me. And yeah, I’m aware how ridiculous that sounds.

If Daisy can reactivate my tired ball of heart-muscle, could she do the same for Rex? If I thought I was in bad shape, he was ten times worse.

If she could save Rex, it would only make me love her more.

 Love?

“Gray?” Killian picks up my hand and gives it a squeeze. “Want to go for a walk?”

And him. I think I also love him.

“That’s my cue to split,” says Leander. “Don’t be a dick, Gray. Choose happiness for once in your life.”
