Reluctantly I turn again to face the guys.

Killian’s eyes lock on mine. “That is the hottest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Leander nods. “I concur.”

“I’m sorry,” I whisper.

“No baby,” says Leander, striding over to where Gray and I are standing. “Take happiness where you can find it, and don’t ever be ashamed of that.”

We all look at him blankly.

“Love is the engine of life and it drives the world," he tells us.

Leander gives us a thumbs up. "Vroom vroom!” he grins.

The other team member, Harvey, is…hovering.

I watch him hover around Daisy. His eyes narrow when Leander kisses her. I see his fists tighten when Killian pulls her into his arms.

So he watches them, and I watch him.

Honestly I’m fine they are all getting their rocks off, it’s good. Happiness, a distraction.

Sometimes I wish I was a religious man, Catholics get absolved of guilt, right? Maybe Killian could convert me. Though I guess he might not be Catholic; I’m just presuming.

I let out a deep sigh.

I look around and see Daisy headed my way, a big, satisfied grin on her face.

“Hey. What’s up?”

She has her hands behind her back, but then brings one forward to show me. “Ta-da!”

“Sweet potato?”
