The recording with Clara was smooth as silk, she’s a professional. A true one-take wonder. I was a bit surprised she’d turned up with Teddy. Seems like things are getting serious between the two of them.
Asa has gone straight from the studio and into the kitchen, getting prepped for his tea party. Lennox is hanging out at the piano, playing duets with Clara, while Teddy looks on.
I head to the kitchen, but Asa is already on his way into the main room. Harmony is pushing his ridiculous hostess trolly. Asa has a tray full of teacups, a teapot, milk and sugar.
“Tea time!” he says, with the happiest of grins. “Lenny, Clara and Teddy are on their way.”
Harmony lets go of the tea cart and runs over to me. “Hugo!”
I swing her around in my arms, and kiss her thoroughly.
“You need to fill me in about your trip…” she says. “Stop putting me off!”
“I will, love. Today in fact.”
Lennox stops playing piano and immediately falls on a plate of macaroons. “Fancy cookies! Yum! Did I hear you say you want to be filled in? I’ll fill you in anytime!” He gives Harmony a wink.
Clara and Teddy get settled. Everyone has a plate of cake and a cup of tea. Asa is explaining about how long you have to warm a teapot for.
Freak.
In amongst the tea chatter, I open my phone to see what else has been released. Everything seems to be in place. Looks like it’s go-time.
“Hey, everybody.”
“Sshh, Grandpa is talking,” says Asa to Teddy. I give Harmony a look, and she instantly sits beside me, giving me all her attention.
I stroke her hair. “Good girl.” The others eventually settle down and I get started.
“Harmony has been asking about my trip to New York, so now we are going to share with her operation, ‘Fuck Around With Our Baby And You Are Going To Find the Fuck Out.”
Still think we could get a few more fucks in that title.
