Once done, I noticed my purse lying on the chair and grabbed my phone to let Stella know I was still at Dean’s. At some point in the middle of the night, I’d let her know I was at his penthouse and not to wait up.
My fingers moved across the screen the moment it was out of my purse. A message from Stella popped up before I could open the text app. The first started at 6:00 a.m. this morning and the rest appeared every thirty minutes thereafter.
Stella: You stayed the whole night!
Stella: OMG!
Stella: I NEED details.
Stella: I’m waiting...and waiting...and waiting...
Stella: I’ve decided you are now my wicked stepsister.
Stella: Why are you torturing me?
I giggled as I finally answered her.
Me: Good morning {heart emoji}
Immediately, the three dots appeared at the bottom.
Stella: I waited forever for you to respond, and THAT’S all I get {sobbing emoji}
Me: Last night was just as amazing as before. Wait...maybe better. He’s a sex god.
Stella: I’m sighing and swooning right now. Does he have any friends? I need DETAILS.
Me: You’ll get them. He’s driving me home in a few minutes so I can change. We have a date this afternoon. Are you still at my place?
Stella: Where else would I be? I’ve been hanging out at your place thinking you’d come home sometime last night LOL Okay...hurry up!
I was excited to share all of last night with my sister. Having her as my sounding board helped me put things into perspective. I glanced at the bed one last time before I headed out of the bedroom to find Dean.
My heart thumped wildly. I knew this was all pretend, yet I couldn’t stop the anxiety that raced through my veins. I was in too deep, and regardless of how hard it was to admit to myself, a piece of my heart already belonged to him.
