"If it only takes me five to get dressed, can I use the other ten devourin' you?"
"Ew, I heard that!"
What the fuck?
"I thought you said Amelia wasn't here?" I rush toward the bedroom.
"She's not."
"But your sister-in-law is!" Harlow taunts.
"Jesus Christ."
"Don't worry, you don't have anythin' I haven't seen on your brother."
"Gross, Harlow!" Delilah scolds, but she laughs with her.
Delilah enters the bedroom as I finish getting dressed.
"We're carpoolin' with them, so we're just waitin' on Waylon to finish showerin' and then we'll go."
"Now has never been a better time to build our own house," I deadpan. "If it's not Amelia or Harlow I'm flashin', it's Mattie and Raven."
Raven moved into Delilah's old apartment a couple weeks ago since Wesley's been MIA. Sheriff's been on the lookout for him, but no one's seen him. That either means he took off to start over somewhere else or he's hidin' out. And if he's hidin' out, he eventually has to resurface.
But Mattie reassured everyone she's keeping an eye on her. Raven's job allows her to work from home but since Mattie took on more hours at Lacey's, she invested in a good security system for when she's not home.
However, when they're not working, they're in my living room having girl's nights and watching movies.
"You shoulda known livin' with a girl came with her havin' girlfriends." Her adorable smirk makes it impossible to be mad.
"Mm-hmm." I capture her waist and press her body to mine. "As long as I get to fall asleep with you next to me and wake up with you in my arms, I'll live with it."
"Well ain't that the sweetest thing I've ever heard."
"I think I've said sweeter things...usually when your mouth?—"
"Stop," she blurts. "We don't have time for that and you'll only work yourself up by talkin' about it."
"How do you even know what I was gonna say?"
"Because you're my husband, and I know you."
I tip up her chin, inching my mouth closer to hers. "Now if anythin' was gonna make me horny, it's hearin' you call me that."
"Uno!" Harlow bellows out.
"Who taught you how to play this game?" Delilah pouts with her fan of cards taking up both hands.
"I've been practicin' with Willow and Poppy." She beams.
It's a running joke that their parents let Harlow win as a child so she never learned strategy or how to follow the game rules. Looks like she's finally figured it out.
"Aren't they like three?" I ask.
"Three-and-a-half, and they're actually quite good."
Delilah snorts, putting down her next card. "Well, now you can pick four."
