Josh

I was so nervous, I skipped my next two classes of the day and went straight to the dorm, texting Derrick as I went. I’d somehow managed to seem confident while talking to Leo, even confident enough to dip into the nearest bathroom and send him a dick pic, but under that front I put up, I was freaking out.

 SOS!

 What?

Is this a hide a body SOS or I think I’m going to do something stupid SOS?

Or is this a freaking out SOS?

Jesus fucking Christ, I can’t even get a message to you before you’re firing in another one.

This is an I’m freaking out SOS.

 Where are you?

 Heading to the dorm.

 I’ll meet you there.

I blew out a soft breath of relief and quickened my pace. Another couple of minutes later, I pushed through the glass doors of our dorm building. After scanning my school ID to the scanner on the side of the stairwell, I jogged up the stairs to our room on the second floor. I groaned as I dropped face-first onto my bed, wondering what in the hell I’d agreed to.

Was I seriously only looking to get myself hurt again? Because that was all that was going to happen. There was no way two men in an established relationship were looking for more than some fun. It was clear both of them really liked getting off with me, on me, in me—what the fuck ever—but more than that?

 Wishful thinking.

“Alright, spill the fucking tea,” Derrick said as he walked into the room, shutting our door behind him. “What the hell has you freaking out and skipping your classes, Josh?”

I sat up and shoved my fingers through my blonde hair, making it stick up everywhere. “Leo stopped me outside of Franklin Hall,” I told him. He hummed and sat on his bed, leaning against the wall behind him. “He and Burne want to spend more time with me.”

“As in fucking or want to be with you?” Derrick asked me.

I shrugged. “I imagine just to fuck.”

Derrick sighed. “Then go have fun, Josh. And try to keep your feelings out of it as much as you can. But for a third time… I would say no. You get attached too easily, bro.”

I nodded. “I know,” I muttered. “I like them both… a lot. We just… fit, I guess. But seeing the two of them together is…” My voice trailed off. I wasn’t even sure if there was a word to describe how in tune they were. It was beautiful to witness them together.

“Have fun with them tonight. Tomorrow, call it off if they’re not in this for more,” Derrick told me, giving me a stern look as he did so. “Don’t get your heart broken, Josh. Because then, I’m going to be pissed.”

 “At me?” I asked.

He shook his head. “At them,” he told me in all honesty. “You’re my best friend and the greatest fucking person I know. I don’t like when people fuck with you.”

“Awww,” I teased, making him roll his eyes. “You’re so sweet, Derrick.”

He threw a pillow at me, making me laugh. “Fuck you, Josh.”

I snickered and threw the pillow back at him. He caught it and set it back against the wall. “Food?” Derrick suddenly asked, snatching his phone off the mattress. “I’m starving. Feelings make me hungry.”

I barked out a laugh. “Sure. Order me my usual from wherever the hell you’re ordering.” We ordered food so much he knew my order from literally every place within a ten-mile radius of campus.

He threw me a thumbs-up before focusing on his screen. I flopped onto my back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling, feeling a little more relaxed now that I’d gotten that off my chest.

I had no idea what I would do without Derrick.

But I knew one thing for sure—I’d be lost.
