He sighed dramatically and settled, squeezing his eyes closed.
Bran chuckled and put his hand on James’s ass. “Okay, boy. As you count each swat—out loud—I want you to remember that you don’t have to apologize for things that happen to you.”
“I—” Whoa. Whoa, he hadn’t thought of it that way…
“Then next time you go to apologize, I’m hoping you’ll remember the spanking and consider if you really do need to apologize.” Bran rubbed his ass. “I’m going to start now.”
He nodded and grabbed Bran’s leg, squeezing hard.
“Good boy. I’m here for you. Don’t forget to count out loud for us.” Then Bran brought his hand down on James’s ass. It was a solid hit, but nothard.
“One.” Okay, he could do this.
“Good boy.” Bran’s hand came down again, hitting just to the left of where the first swat landed.
His toes curled and he murmured, “Two.”
“That’s good.” There wasn’t any anger or upset in Bran’s voice, only… pride at him counting the swats, taking the spanking. The next swat landed, this one a little harder, maybe.
He wiggled, frowned. “Three.”
God, just hurry up.
“Are you thinking about why you’re getting this spanking?” Bran asked before swatting again.
“Yes! Just do the last one!”
“You haven’t counted that one for me yet,” Bran noted, voice calm, hand resting on his ass.
“Four! I meant to say four.”
“Good boy.” This time, there was definitely a thread of amusement in Bran’s voice, but it didn’t feel like Bran was laughing at him. “Last one.”
This swat was the hardest one yet, sharp, but he couldn’t say it was painful; it was just undeniable.
He sighed, breath huffing out of him in a rush.
“Five,” Silas whispered.
“I heard that. But I need to hear it from Jamie.” Bran tapped his ass. “Say it, baby boy. Now.”
“Five.”
“Good boy.” Bran drew him up onto his lap, holding him close and kissing his head. “I’m very proud of you.”
“I am too.” Silas pushed close. “Our good boy.”
Bran wrapped his free arm around Silas, holding them all together.
Jamie leaned in, eyelids going heavy. He wasn’t sleepy, but he was exhausted.
Bran kissed the top of his head again. “Why don’t you nap, boy. We’ll make sure you get up to bed.”
“’kay. Just want to be with you both, ’kay?”
“That’s what your daddies want too, boy. I promise, we’re not going anywhere.”
“I’m gonna nap right along with you,” Silas told him. “I worked like a fiend today and just want to snuggle with my family.”
