He took it, examining it. “You made me one? That was quick.”

“I didn’t make this when you asked. We didn’t have enough time, but I thought this one would work until I could. When I made this, I didn’t know it was your favorite color and mine together.”

It was a purple and blue gradient colored mug.

“I love it.” He would have his morning coffee in it every day.

“Now, you’ll give your mother’s back?”

He chuckled. “Yeah, I’ll give hers back.” He set the mug on the mantle, then moved to the dresser, opening one of the drawers. “I have a gift for you.”

 “Benny, no,” she whined.

“God loves a cheerful giver, and I’m excited about this.” He flipped the top of the box.

“Oh God.” She clutched her chest.

When Benny picked out the twelve carat, emerald and round-cut diamond tennis necklace, he knew it would look good on her. “Turn around.”

“This is too much,” she said as she turned, giving him her back.

 Women.He chuckled.

Benny clasped it around her neck, and it fit her perfectly. He was glad he had gone with sixteen inches. “Take a look for yourself. It’s perfect.”

He guided her up to the full-length mirror.

 “It’s gorgeous.”

He knotted her hair in his fist before kissing her neck. “It’s fourteen karat white gold. Do you like it?” he asked in between kisses.

Her shaky hands traced over the diamonds. “I love it.”

“You deserve all the nice things in the world.” He tugged at her hair, giving himself access to her mouth.

“Mmmmm.” Lorielle moaned when he moved his lips back to her neck. She gripped the back of his head as he targeted her hot spot, attacking it with tantalizing kisses.

“You know how beautiful you are?” He slowly removed her robe, letting it drop to the floor. “You know I love you, right?” He looked at her in the mirror with an under-eye stare.

Lorielle laughed nervously. “I love you, too, Benny.”

This wasn’t the first time he confessed his love for her, but she always took it in a friendly nature. She never understood the magnitude of his words, but she would.

“I just want to take care of you, Lorielle. Give you all the things you never had before.” And he wasn’t just talking about tangible items. Anyone could buy her clothes, bags, jewelry. Butto take care of her mentally, emotionally, and physically—that was something money couldn’t buy.

“It’s so easy to say yes in the moment, but we have to be realistic.”

“What’s more real than what’s happening in the moment?” he whispered in her ear. “You don’t feel what’s transpiring between us?”

 “Mmm. I feel it.”

He smiled against her skin. “Why fight it?” Patient hands waited until she fully relaxed, her body melting into his, her head falling to his shoulder.

It was a natural thing between them. From the beginning they could kick it. When they first met, they talked for hours.

What kept them apart? She said it was his age, then he later found out it had less to do with his age and more to do with her not wanting to be tied down, but that was years ago. They both had grown, and now he hoped they could grow together.

Benny was on a mission to elevate her life, but he would start with her body.
