He grunts, flicking my arm like a ten-year-old. “Aboutwhat, motherfucker?”

“She kind of…walked in on me,” I say, throwing a glance his way.

His brows come together with a look that says,And?

I huff out a breath. I can’t believe the fucker is going to make me say it. “You know…” I nod at my junk.

“Wait,” he bursts out laughing. “She walked in on you jerking off, and you thought, this is the perfect time to kiss my best friend?”

I give him a pointed look. “No, asshole. God, keep the fuck up,” I bark at him, even though I’m being vague as hell, and no one could follow this conversation. “The kiss was months ago. At Christmas. Then, she walked in on me jerking off…” I trail off, and then add under my breath, “An hour ago.”

He howls like an idiot, tears gathering in his eyes as he clutches his stomach. I want to punch him in it. But the more he yuks it up, the more I realize just how ridiculous it all is, and soon, I’m chuckling, too.

“What the hell happened?” he asks, his laughter dying off some.

“I played it off all cool like, hoping to Christ that she bought it. Then, I invited her in to watch again.” I deadpan.

“Seriously?” he asks, eyebrows just about launching off his forehead.

I scoff, drumming my fingers on the open window frame. “No, dick.”

“Why the hell not? I swear, you’re such a pussy sometimes.” He laughs again. “Unless you weren’t into it,” he says with a smirk.

“Because she took off,” I answer.

“That disappointing, huh?” he quips and I flip him off.

“Fuck this,” I say and move to open the door, but he grabs my arm.

“Come on, Hudson. I’m just fucking with you,” he says through another laugh. The bastard is always so smug. “So, you talked about it?”

I shake my head, watching people come and go from the tire shop. “I haven’t really seen her since.”

“You said you played it cool, which I find very hard to believe, given that it’s you.”

“Over text. I just sort of glossed over it.”

“That’s not playing it cool, dipshit. That’s avoidance.”

“Well, aren’t you smart with your big fucking words?” I toss out.

“You are something else,” he says after he finally gets his laughter under control.

“So you keep saying.”

“So, what? You’re just going to ignore her for the rest of your life?”

“No, but things are gonna be weird between us.”

“Tell me something the rest of us don’t already know.”

“Eat a dick. Her seeing what she saw… It’s hard to explain.” I think back to the time Finn made me watchTwilightwith her. “It’s like what happened to Edward and Bella, when he sees her for the first time in class.”

He runs a hand over his face with a groan, then drops it to his lap. “I don’t think that’s the flex you think it is, bro.”

“Fuck off. It’s not a flex. It’s just the truth. There’s an even stronger pull toward her now. Especially since we’re married now.”

“You two are so fucking weird.” He laughs, scratching his jaw.
