“Need?”

He pulls me tighter to him. “Trelor can smell Ari-Rose wants Trelor. No tonight.”

I snuggle closer. I close my eyes and hope sleep comes to me.

“Sleep, Ari-Rose. You do not worry.”

I feel my body drifting off, and I hope for no nightmares.

Chapter 34

ARIANNA

Shifting in the nest, I’m met with the brightest set of blue eyes glowing down at me.

I was restless for most of the night. Every time I moved, Trelor pulled me closer, soothing me and making sure I knew I was safe. My dreams were filled with red-eyed daemons and the desert town.

I don’t know what the town was or who used to live there, but I do know that I must go back. The sandy town has something to do with my book, but the thought of going back there makes me want to cry. What if there are other daemons there? What if Macy shows up this time?

Trelor still watches me, his face filled with worry. I reach my hand up and place it on his cheek. He leans into my touch before turning and kissing the palm of my hand. “Ari-Rose does not sleep, okay?”

I shake my head, “No, I got some sleep, but not enough.”

He lowers to nuzzle my neck—he smells just like Gaelan, he feels just like Gaelan, only larger and much more intense. He looks down at me, his eyes flicker to my lips, then back to my eyes. He looks like he wants to kiss me. But after what happenedwith those daemons, my face is throbbing, my body hurts even more. I don’t want to be touched, but a kiss?

His eyes shoot to mine, and he grins, showing his fangs. “Gaelan said Wait. Been too long since a kiss from a mate. I wait. I wish.” He licks his lips.

“You can kiss me, Trelor,” I whisper. I want to erase the daemons that touched me; I don’t want them to get in the way of my life or happiness. It seems that this dark side of the world has been getting in the way of my whole life, as well as the ones before it.

Trelor hesitates for a moment, his breathing picking up, as his tail pulls me closer, he slowly leans in to brush his soft lips over mine. The kiss is teasing at first. I can feel his body shaking. I know he’s holding back. I reach one hand up to grab his shoulder and pull him closer.

Feeling his hard body pressed against mine makes me want to deepen the kiss. He runs his hands up my back as he tilts slightly, kissing me harder. I open my mouth for him, and we moan, his hot lips devouring mine. His tongue feels different from Gaelan’s; it teases me and brushes against me like it’s got a mind of its own.

Trelor moves onto his back, taking me with him, so I’m lying on top of him. He deepens the kiss more and begins to run his hands down my back, careful of my bruises, to cup my ass. I can feel his cock pressing against me—I want to strip my clothes off. Still, the memories of what happened come crashing into the forefront of my mind, making me rip my lips from his.

Trelor growls, and I watch as he shakes his body, then moves me. He gets out of bed, walks into the bathroom, and slams the door shut.

Trying not to cry, I look at the door before climbing out of the nest and walking over to it. “Trelor?” I knock lightly.

“Ari-Rose needs to be safe. Not ready. I want to fuck Ari-Rose. So, I will wait here until Trelor calms down.”

I can’t help the smile that crosses my face. “Trelor… I’m sorry.”

“Not sorry. Not Ari-Rose’s fault.”

Slamming and shuffling echoes through the door, then another loud bang.

“Trelor?” When he doesn’t answer, I begin to worry. I push the door open to find Gaelan standing naked, facing me with a grin on his face.

“Seems Trelor couldn’t handle how beautiful you are or how much we want to fuck you all the time,” he laughs.

Gaelan walks over to me, pulls me into his arms, and looks down at me. “Trelor made me promise that he gets to worship your body when you’re ready.”

I smile. “That sounds perfect,” I laugh. “I still can’t get my head around the fact that there are two of you—one dark, one pitch black.”

Gaelan lowers his head and kisses my cheek. “We can be a lot of fun. You’ll see,” he says with a wink.

I frown, wondering what he means. I open my mouth to ask, but he cuts me off.
