“We only kicked Mama out instead of killing her out of respect for Ivy,” I admit, “Even though she sold her Ivy still held, or holds should I say, hope that Mama was just going through a bad phase. She still holds that daughter love for her which is why it’s so easy for Mama to get into her head all the time, the same with the Hayden situation. Ivy’s too trusting with Mama, so when we do end her, Ivy can’t be around, and I hate to say it, but maybe we need to tell her she left town for good.”

The brothers nod before Blade states, “We’ll put this on the table for now, come up with a plan for once we’ve found that fucking flash drive,” and we all nod before he begins discussing the club businesses, and I’m not proud of it, but I zone out again, Raya coming to mind yet again.

I know she’ll want to run, I know I’ll have a fight on my hands, but she and I, we’re going to happen. She’ll have to get on board with it because I meant what I said to the brothers - she will come willingly.

An hour later, I walk out of the clubhouse, my phone my only focus as I watch Raya pull up at the apartment complex the club owns, looking tired.

Looks like she had a shift at the firehouse today.

Fuck, I’m so proud of her, wanting to not only follow in her father's footsteps but to venture out on her own. Not only providing for herself but continuing her father's wishes to live respectably and to honor what she has been given.

“I meant what I said, brother,” Fury says, gaining my attention as I reach my bike and look at him, “You need my help, I’m there. The women are worried about her and how quiet she’s become, fuck, Sky is ready to tie her up herself.”

I'm not surprised the women are struggling, Sky and my sister the most, especially since Viper announced she’ll become godmother to Grace. Forcing her to keep in contact with Lake.

Luna and Ivy are kicking themselves for not thinking of it before Lake.

“I appreciate it, brother,” I reply before I climb on my bike, then confirm, “I’ll let you know.”

He nods as I start my bike, then rev it before backing out of my designated spot next to his bike and spinning in a circle before roaring off towards the gate, the new prospect opening it just in time, noticing I won’t be stopping for him.

I have a girl to go win over.

I pull up next to Raya’s tiny ass car ten minutes later, before I climb off my bike, and without breaking my stride, I walk over to the main door, letting myself in with the master key card at the front door, my only destination – Raya.

I get it, she’s probably scared and confused. I’ve gone from basically bullying her to get her away from my sister for years, to then flirting with her without realizing it, to falling madly deeply in love with her and seeing that she’s my one.

I didn’t want to believe it, so I can guarantee she probably doesn’t either, but I can’t walk away. I refuse, and I know she’ll regret it if we don’t try.

I reach her door in minutes, opting to use the stairs instead of the elevator, and I knock on her door before pressing my palms against the door frame.

For months, I’ve done this - months I’ve knocked on her door, then sat down and waited to hear her footsteps before I started talking. But this time, it’s different. I know she knows it is, and I know she’s currently standing on the other side, trying to figure out if it is just best to open the door or wait for me to use the master key.

I don’t say anything. I drop my head and let it hang as I breathe heavily, waiting for her to make up her mind and choose us.

She opens the door, she’s willingly giving me what I need to know, that we’ll make it. She keeps it shut, I’m taking her kicking and screaming back to the clubhouse and tying her to my bed until I make her see reason. Eventually she’ll see I’m not that jackass with his blinkers on any longer.

I count backwards from ten, then I’m entering with the key.

Just as I begin the countdown, I hear the lock slide, and I breathe a sigh of relief, exhaling hard as the door opens before me and I slowly lift my head, and our eyes connect.

She shows fear, not of me, but of the situation, and also a little bit of hope. That is all I need.

I push off the doorframe and stalk into her space, cupping her cheeks. Then, without a word, I slam my lips down on hers. She kisses me back, opening her mouth, and our tongues instantly tangle.

I moan as her taste overrides me before I grab her ass and lift her.

Raya wraps her legs around my waist as I turn us to kick her door shut before I push her up against it, kissing her like a man starved for a few minutes, feeling my dick become completely uncomfortable before I break the kiss knowing I need to set the record straight. So there’s no misunderstanding and place my forehead against hers breathing hard before I finally eye her outfit and I lose all fucking concentration.

My shirt from when I was in my teens…Damn.

“I accused a patch chaser of taking that shirt,” I breathe, and Raya replies, “Well, to be fair, you’ve called me one enough times over the years.”

Cheeky fucking minx.

I growl and kiss her again with more force as I pull up the shirt she’s wearing before I break the kiss and throw the shirt onto her couch.

I look over her delicious body, her bare tits in view, her nipples waiting to be sucked on, but I pause, a small tattoo over her heart catching my attention.
