Did she lie?

Gregory eyes me for a second before holding some paperwork up, but winces seeing we’re in the middle of church, and says, “Sorry to interrupt, boys, but I thought you’d want these in your hands, the contracts signed, so you can now expand Dark Angel’s Girls.”

I haven’t been able to speak to him since finding out he’s Raya’s stepfather, and I confronted him about not telling us about his connection to her.

“Fucking perfect,” Viper states, excited to have a bigger office, causing the brothers to chuckle while I lean forward and ask, “How’s Raya?” like she didn’t just piss me the fuck off, and Medic snorts, making me scowl.

Fucker.

Gregory raises a brow and skeptically asks, “Why do you want to know?”

Shit.

I swallow hard and lie, “I just haven’t seen her in a while, that's all.”

“You mean since she kissed me this morning to piss you off?” Medic mumbles quietly, and I elbow him hard, making him choke on a laugh before Gregory admits, “Venom, I spoke to my wife, I know what happened this morning, so cut the shit, yeah? You spent years treating my daughter like shit, but have now suddenly opened your eyes and want her and expect her to come running. You should be grateful I don’t own a shotgun.”

Fuck, I guess she’s still actively contacting her mama. At least she hasn’t cut everyone out, I guess.

“Daughter?” Brick questions with a smirk and raised brow, and Gregory winces before admitting, “I see her as mine, but I know that’s a touchy subject for her. She was a daddy’s girl after all, just uh, don’t tell her I claimed her, she’ll kill me.”

I half smile. I know how much Chase meant to Raya, her silver chain she never takes off coming to mind, but somehow, deep down, I think she’d love that he sees her as his daughter.

He’s a good man who has been working for the club since I was in diapers, and she’s lucked out in the stepfather territory, though I know she’d rather have her father back.

“Where is she?!” I demand, not beating around the bush, and Gregory grins and admits, “At work…”

Wait what?

I frown in confusion as Viper asks, “I thought she didn’t work?” and Gregory smirks.

Is that where she’s been on some nights?

Fuck was I wrong about everything over the years?

Confusion fills not just me but the room, but the church door opens again without a knock before I can voice ‘what the fuck does she do’, and the prospect, Kid, who, well, acts like a kid, gasps, “Raya just called, Lake’s at the hospital and is in labor!”

My eyes widen as everyone sits up straight and Viper’s face pales.

Ah shit, looks like questioning Raya is going to have to wait, we have another generation on the way.

Ten minutes later, we all rush into the hospital behind a frantic Viper, his dad right behind him.

“You still mad at me?” Medic asks as we walk through the ER doors. I growl at the idiot and open my mouth to state now is not the time, but I freeze when I see Raya standing near the desk, no longer wearing her white dress, but instead…

What the fuck?

“Raya? What the fuck?” I say in shock, eyeing her outfit, and she groans, dropping her head, her chin hitting her chest as Viper gives her a salute and rushes off into the double doors. The nurses following as they shout for him to come back, clearly not realizing he’s the father.

It doesn’t take a scientist to know why she became a firefighter, but what is confusing is why she never told anyone.

Fuck, does my sister know?

“Brother, what the fuck is that?” I hear Blade state as he grips my arm, not noticing Raya before us, and he jabs my neck tattoo.

Well, it took a while for at least one brother to notice I’ve branded my girl's name on my skin.

“Venom!” Blade snaps again, but I ignore him as Raya and I lock eyes, and I demand the obvious, “Raya, are you a firefighter?”
