It was that easy.

What Cole wanted, Cole received, and as soon as he threw himself on the new throne, hewantedme to take a seat in his lap, publicly assuming the role ofthe queen.

Strangely, it didn’t feel unnatural. More like I was supposed to be there, almost cuddled on his chest as his subjects came once again to pay their ‘What’s up, bro?’ respects.

History seemed to be repeating itself to the point that I was starting to wonder how did he deal with all of the adulation. Sure, at first it might be fun, having the adrenaline of leadership running through his veins, and it might even give him information on everything that was going on around him as everyone was so eager to please the king. But from where I was standing it was just time and nerve consuming.

‘You, go bring me a punch,’ Cole suddenly ordered one of the students that was an intern at hisroyal servant’s school. Though, what puzzled me wasn’t his behavior. It was his request. Was he going off the whiskey he seemed so fond of?

It didn’t take long for me to figure out the answer, since as soon as his order arrived he put the glass between my fingers ‘I know you don’t like the whiskey.’ He clinked the neck of his bottle on my cup, gesturing me to drink up.

I first looked at it as if it was poisoned, and to be honest, that was by far, more of a possibility than him actually being nice out of his own free will. But I left things as they were, not wanting to disturb the newfound balance of the night.

Somewhere between a few rants, a few attempts of flirting that made my blood boil, and a few brotherly pledges of eternal respect, he buried his head on my collarbone ‘Jesus, I came here to relax, not for these idiots to do my head in,’ he groaned as his eyes closed, sneaking his arms around my waist. The musky base of his cologne was setting in, covering my own as his eyes raised to meet mine, hiding a glimmer I never noticed before.

Or maybe itwasn’tthere before.

A determined thumb drove to trace the contour of my lips, opening them so that his tongue could hide inside my mouth in slow circles, much similar to my earlier kiss. Lava hot desire began flowing through my veins as everything came so naturally, without him using his usualmethodsof constraint. It was just me and him, with shivering bodies, acknowledging a reality that seemed highly improbable. He wasn’t kissing me as the result of torture, or for proving a point. It was more like a kiss between lovers, unwillingly preparing me for what was to come.

Chewing on my bottom lip, he grinned sensing me smile. The party began making much more sense than I could have ever believed. The music mixed with the booze was making everyone leave their guard down, relaxing to the point where any desire prevailed day to day reality.

Perhaps I was a fool to discover his world only now, but life hadn’t given me many opportunities topartybefore. More the opposite.

It was just us, living the moment as our crazy magnetism was setting in. Heated limbs and hearts full of ardent pathos, while our bodies screamed to be touched in the steamiest way possible.

One of his hands ran through my hair in a caress, dancing between thick locks while the other was advancing on the side of my waist, higher and higher, losing itself beneath my jacket.

‘I want you to answer a question. No bullshit,’ he whispered between the niblings and the pampering of my tongue.

‘Hmmm...no bullshit. What if I’m afraid of the repercussions?’

‘There won’t be any,’ he glared back at me, preparing me for aquiz.

‘Ok, but you know I also have an unanswered question.’

‘Do you now?’

‘Mhmmm,’ I nodded, unable to hold back my curious nature. ‘But I don’t trust you, so I should go first.’

Who was to say I wasn’t going to take advantage of his moment of weakness? It was what they all did anyway, one way or the other.

‘First of all, everyone will lie to you, but not me. One day you will find these words to be true and you will learn to trust me.’

He seemed deadly serious about it, even if all the chances were, his words were just a bluff.

‘And now for the question,’ he shrugged, not really concerned about what I could ask him.

‘What was the bet about?’ I needed to know what exactly had brought us together, even if it was just for my information and not something that could ever benefit me. It had something to do with karma and the planets lining up, as I believed everything happened for a reason, even if that reason might seem totally unimportant at the time being.

‘I remember I asked you to kiss me for that,’ he leaned to trace his mouth on the side of my neck as I was struggling to have a semi-conversation, somewhere between the throbbing below my waist and the thoughts that seemed to gather up together just to dissipate into a million different ideas the next second.

‘Which I eventually did...’

I didkisshim where he wanted... And a lotlowerthan that...

‘Not in good time, but I guess I can tell you now,’ he spoke, continuing along his path of my skin, unbothered by the fact that I was demanding his attention. Although this time, I knew he wasn’t doing it on purpose. He wasn’t ignoring me intentionally, just letting himself be carried away by the heated sensation of our bodies combined.

The secret, if I could even call it that, will be out soon ‘I was drunk-’.
