There will be retribution.

I know it.

And I gave King my blessing.

The fact it was so easy to find the words to give him my blessing to commit acts of violence shows just how far I’ve come. How much I’ve grown.

“You saved my life,” King says.

I gently place my hand over the wound site. “I’m sorry you still got hurt.”

He places his thumb beneath my chin and tips it gently. “You. Saved. My. Life.” He punctuates every word with a kiss. “And for that, I will spend the rest of my life protecting yours. I may be president of my club, but ‘a heaven on earth I have won by wooing thee.’”

My heart bounces in my chest. “All’s Well That Ends Well,” I whisper.

King smiles. “No vengeful kings in that one. I checked.”

“Smooth. And so very sweet.”

“When I step out that door, I have a job to do. A role to step into. A weight to carry. But you’ve given me a reason to be more than all that.”

This time I step up onto my toes and kiss him. “I love you.”

“I love you too. Now, go upstairs, get naked, and wait for me in the bathroom,” King says as he cups my cheek. “You can show me just how much you love me.”

“Saving your life wasn’t enough?” I ask.

“Duchess,” he warns. His voice is almost a growl.

And I know it will never fail to turn me on for the rest of our days.

EPILOGUE ONE

KING

Amonth later.

“This is a pretty fucked-up assortment of gifts, you realize that, right?”

I glance at Saint, who is looking at me as though I have totally lost my shit. “Have you met your sister?”

“Fair, but still ...”

We both lean back against the bar and stare at the long table and motorbike sitting right in the middle of the clubhouse. “It’s all the things she wants. And some are from the club and you and Briar.”

We’ve spent the past month cleaning house. We secured our homes, our networks, our clubhouse.

There was no identification on the bodies, so we’re working under the assumption it was arranged by the Righteous Brotherhood. While we have many enemies, they are our biggest target now. Halo was right: they’ll just keep coming back for more. This time we need to stop them for good.

And we need to be smarter than them. So we’ve taken a new approach. Revenge has hit the digital age. Vex is going to hit them where it hurts. Hacking bank accounts, outing them in the public domain. The days of being closet Klan-fuckers are over.

We’re finding their weak spots. Saint has even supplied information we’ve found to a contact he’s still friendly with at the ATF. In return, they’re giving him a heads-up into the investigation into Saint’s behaviors. There are double agents everywhere.

We got guys inside doing life who can’t wait to meet the Righteous Brotherhood. For an extra bonus to their family, they’ll shank any shithead we ask them to. And we pay enough guards that they’ll get away with it.

But today’s about giving my woman a birthday to remember. Saint got Rae and the girls a spa day to keep them out of my hair while we set this party up.

Halo is up a ladder assembling a balloon banner Niro is making. Niro was supposed to be setting up the tables and chairs but was shooting his mouth off and irritating everyone so much that Halo shoved a balloon in his mouth and told him seeing he has so much hot air, he could put it to good use.
