“Jasper,” he whispers.

I hear slow footsteps and then Jasper is behind me. Nathan releases my arm and sinks his fist into Jasper's tangled hair. He pulls Jasper to stand beside me and holds us there in front of him. He looks back and forth between us until there's more brown than black in his eyes, then I know we have him back.

Nathan pulls both of us into his chest and we wrap our arms around him. “You're here. Both of you.”

“Of course we are,” Jasper whispers, “we came to rescue you.”

Nathan slams his mouth onto Jasper's in a brutal kiss. It's beautiful, and drags a sigh from Jasper. Then he comes for me.

I've never kissed Nathan, not that I can remember. I don't know if I kissed him when I was in heat or not. It's a little jarring to realize that kissing feels more intimate than a blowjob, but that's how it is right now.

Nathan's mouth is hot and firm, and I can taste a hint of Jasper on his tongue. It isn't a long, drawn-out kiss. It's a very purposeful kiss. He's reminding himself that his omegas are safe. He hasn't claimed me yet, but he will. I gave him the right to act as my alpha the second I agreed to become his omega.

He breaks off the kiss with a shaky breath and pulls Jasper and me into his chest once more. “You're alright. We're alright. Let's go the fuck home.”

“We can't,” Jasper says in a way that brings me all the way out of Nathan's spell, “the rest of our pack is outside fighting the assholes who took you from me.”

The mention of the rest of our pack puts a little of that feral gleam back into Nathan's eye. “Then let's join them.”

The uneventful journey to the front door of the building would be suspicious if I didn't know that the rest of my pack, Daniel's pack, two of my father's, and the Dennison pack were at the front gate. They've probably broken through by now.

I half expect to see Alex on the other side of the door when we open it, gleefully roasting everyone who sides with the enemy with his blowtorch. I thought it was ridiculous when he packed it into the truck, but now that I'm in the thick of things I wouldn't so much mind roasting a few of these motherfucker's myself.

Alex isn't on the other side of the door, though. No one is. I can hear screaming, growling, and gunshots from the right.

“Talia, earbuds,” Jasper says as he runs a fingertip along the shell of my ear.

Yes, definitely need to put those back in. I have assholes to kill, and it wouldn't do for my stupid omega DNA to force me to submit to an enemy alpha's order. This is one of those times that being a beta would be so much better.

I put them in and kiss Jasper to the sound of the remixed violin pieces Alex decided would make a good soundtrack to the violence we intend to cause. Then I follow Kaleb and Trent into the fray.

It's chaos.

I knew it would be. But it looks to be going in our favor. I catch a flurry of movement to my left and turn my head just in time to see Corso snatch a rogue in mid-run and wrench his neck before he drops him to the ground in a heap. He holds my gaze for a quick moment, but it's enough to calm the anxiety swirling in my stomach. He tips his chin to the side and I look over to see Reid and Alex fighting back to back and I feel even better.

My boys are alright. I can see every one of them right now except for Devon, and I know he's safe in the hospital. My mother has an entire team of enforcers there to guard him. The rest of the pack is here with me, and we have a job to do.

Trent and Nathan touch both Jasper and me gently as they break off and head toward Alex and Reid. Kaleb turns to face us and points to us and then the ground where we're standing, making it clear that he wants us to stay right where we are.

I flick a glance at Jasper. The expression on his face lets me know that we are absolutely not staying right here. I look back at Kaleb and smile. He returns my smile and shakes his head. His mouth moves, but I don't know what he's saying. Then he kisses each of us on the cheek. He moves to stand a few feet in front of us, not quite going into the heart, or even the outer edge of the fight. Obviously, his plan is to guard us without making it obvious.

That lasts for about three seconds. In no time at all, two rogues have spotted him and are on him. My instinct is to go fight at his side, but Jasper stops me. He points to a small group of three rogues making their way toward us.

Oh joy. Mr. Snake and Company from Danny's Bar and Grill. I look back at Jasper and watch his mouth form one word. Devon.

Surely, he can't be serious. He must be mistaken. If I could get away from them in the parking lot of that bar, there's no way they could have taken Devon out the way they did.

I rip an earbud out of my ear. “Those assholes are the ones who hurt Devon?”

Jasper takes out one of his ear buds, “they came back in after the other's shot him. I could hear them hurting him even though he was supposed to be dead.” He puts his earbud back in, and I do the same.

They're walking towards us almost like you walk through a park. I watch them move and let my rage fill me. Images of Devon's broken body covered in the crude territorial markings of these pieces of shit filter through my mind and I'm trembling with my anger. The knowledge that they came back in to further desecrate an alpha who was either dead or dying, just to do it,makes me sick. And the fact that it wasmyalpha only serves to enrage me further.

Jasper puts us in motion. Excellent. We're going to meet them part way. I'd feel better if he was behind me, but I'm sure he feels the same way. So, I walk beside him to meet these assholes.

As we get closer I can see their lips curling in smirks and moving with whatever they're saying. I make out the wordomegaa few times, and the wordpussy. It doesn't matter, they can say whatever they want. I watch as Mr. Snake tries to bark an alpha command at us and I smile at him.

These earbuds are amazing.
