What alpha could refuse a request like that? Two orgasms later, Trent's seated deeply inside me and we're all covered in slick and cum, and I've never felt more relaxed. Talia and I are both giving our alphas perfect, intoxicating omega humming purrs and sleep is claiming us. The last thing I hear is the click of a door and Kaleb's deep voice telling us to rest as he places a huge pile of blankets and a basket of food and water just inside the door.

Two days later I'm struggling. Nathan is struggling. Trent is on the cusp of struggling. And Talia's heat isn't showing any signs of retreat. I left the nest a few hours ago to drink every drop of water I could find, eat, and fucking sleep. I am not an alpha, and I am not subject to rut.

I don't know how they survive this, and watching Talia go through heat has been eye opening, to say the least. The only respite her body will give her is when she's knotted and temporarily sated. She won't eat unless she's forced, even when she's knotted.

Trent had to pin her and threaten to withhold his knot and any further orgasms from her before she would let me spoon some applesauce into her mouth this morning; and he'll never admit it, but I'm pretty sure it took everything he had to keep her restrained long enough for her to swallow a few bites.

Devon says I'm very similar, and that Talia is so ferocious in her need because her body wants to be pregnant. She's cuddly and sweet as a kitten when she's knotted, during those moments she's right there with me, loving me and letting me love her; but the moment the waves start claiming her again she's overwhelmed by need. No matter how far she drifts she's still reaching for me, though. She's anxious even in the middle of the insanity of heat-laced orgasms if she can't scent me, see me, touch me.

I feel guilty leaving her, but I really can't take much more. My body is overly sensitive and my balls have gone past aching and straight into hurting. One look at me when I walked into the kitchen and Kaleb ordered me to bed. He brought me food and drinks and held me while I slept. He told me he's worried about Nathan, and if Talia doesn't let up soon we might have a problem.

I agree. I didn't quite anticipate the intensity with which her heat would take her, and I didn't actually expect her to exhaust two alphas. When I worried Kaleb with it he laughed and reminded me that I need all four of them during my heat and my body isn't demanding a baby like Talia's.

I heave a heavy sigh. I've indulged myself in two of my alphas for the past few hours. I'm sitting on Devon's lap right now drinking a cup of tea with a double serving of honey stirred into it and it feels amazing. But I have to muddy it. The decision to call in backup is mine and I'm making it.

Talia may be taken by heat for a few more days, the two alphas in the nest with her are exhausted. They're my alphas as much as hers but they're mine to take care of wholly when she can’t help, and they're at their limit. I'd much rather Devon and Kaleb tag in, but Talia's right, I wouldn't feel safe unless they were keeping watch any more than she would.

I don't even know that Corso can make more than a little difference, at least he can give Nathan and Trent a longer rest period. I sigh again, and Devon rubs my back between my shoulder blades, the heat of his hand soothing much more than muscles.

“I'm calling Corso,” I say quietly, “they need help. I didn't actually think I'd have to.”

Devon wraps his arms around me and pulls me against his chest, “I know, angel. Will it bother you?”

I take a second to think about it for the hundredth time, but the answer is still the same, “no. It probably should, but it doesn't. Talia needs more than two alphas, and Trent and Nathan are mine to care for alone until she’s back to herself. They're flagging. It's time. Does it bother you?” I've been worried that it might bother Devon or one of the others to have an alpha who isn't pack in our home, fucking our girl, in our bed.

He laughs softly against my neck, “strangely, no, it really doesn't. Corso isn't interested in taking you, and you're not in heat. Talia is ours to take care of, pack bond or not, and by this afternoon she may not have anyone in the nest fully capable of taking care of her. I know it's unheard of, but for our situation it works. I'm not worried about Corso, I'm worried about her. And, to be perfectly honest, I'll be glad for Alex and Reid to help keep watch.”

I nod and pick up my phone.

Corso picks up before the second ring and I have to bite my cheek to keep from laughing.

“Jasper,” he says, not even hello.

“Consider yourself called in. How soon can you be here?” I can almost feel the buzzing excitement through the phone.

“Twenty three minutes. We booked a room for the week just in case our services were needed.”

I have to beat back another laugh. I'd be excited, too. I almost can't wait to watch his reaction to her once he's in the nest. “Alright. I'll wait for you to get here before I go back in. It'll be like I'm bringing her a present. Drink some extra water on your way over.”

He doesn't say anything before he ends the call. His flustered excitement might even be adorable.

Exactly twenty four minutes later he's knocking on the door.

When Devon opens the door to let him in, the sweet scent of an omega in heat hits him and the two alphas behind him and their pupils expand immediately. I was planning to make a joke about it, but now that it's here I don't feel much like joking.

Corso's intense expression squashes any light hearted comment I might want to make. He wants this. Badly. He wants this for his own completely personal reasons, and based on the expressions of his pack they also want it. When this is over I will make Talia tell me the true, fully detailed version of her history with this pack.

“Take off your shirt,” I tell him, “follow me. Don't say anything to her until after she accepts your scent. She's not herself right now, so try not to be alarmed. She's much more aggressive than I anticipated, try not to be alarmed by that, either.”

He shucks his shirt and hands it to me when I reach for it. Just before I open Nathan's bedroom door I turn back to him, “I'll give her your shirt to see how she likes it. Stay behind me, I won't let her get you. She won't hurt me, but if she doesn't want you and you go near her nest she might hurt you before I can stop her.”

He gives me a funny sort of look, but he agrees.

God, I hope he doesn't fuck this up.
