I hold his look, my entire body buzzing, thinking about everything before this point. The longer I take, the more the side of Axel’s mouth quirks up in a confident smirk.

I smirk back. “Go bother one of your toys, slut. I don’t have time for you.”

Then, I use the bat to push him back and slam the door.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

I’m down bad. I’m down motherfuckingbad.

That look in Raven’s eye when she told me no and slammed the door? Fuck me sideways, she looked feral. Wild and angry and so, so fucking hot.

She also called me a slut. Andthatfucking pisses me off.

At that moment, I almost jumped up and slammed her into the apartment. Almost pinned her against the wall to make her see just how much a ‘slut’ could rock the fucking stick out of her ass.

I buzzed about it all night, even fucking my fist until I came over and over. But nothing helped. I want it from her. I want her mouth wrapped around my dick. I want to punish her mouth until she cries, then force her to come over and over until she screams.

My dick throbs, and I have to adjust myself.

I made Dave park across the street from Raven’s apartment. He was oddly quiet when I asked, and it pisses me off. It’s not stalking. I just want to know where Raven and my brother will be today.

My blood runs hot even thinking about it. Gage doesn’t deserve her attention. He wouldn't know what to do with someone like her anyway. The man hasn’t seen pussy since Jessica, and she was a boring lay.

Suddenly, I see movement in the alley. Raven’s car makes an appearance, and I catch a glimpse of her pretty face behind the wheel. At least, I know it’s pretty. Stunning, actually, but she’s fuzzy from here. She drives toward town.

I direct Dave to follow her, secretly hoping she stops at the coffee shop again. I can stop there for lunch and see her sans bat.

Or, you know what? Maybe keep the bat. I like a little bit of danger. It makes my heart pump, and I feelalive.

But Raven doesn’t stop at the coffee shop. My skin gets hotter and hotter as we drive toward the other end of town.

Toward Gage’s house.

Sure enough, she pulls in front of his house, then gets out of the car, flouncing around in that dark, pleated skirt of hers. The one that I wish I could see up last night after I dropped to my knees in front of her. Raven looks stunning today, with her dark hair streaming down her back. I can’t see her face, but I know her features are fucking sharp and soft at the same time, her cheekbones cutting out of her face, covered in soft, dewy skin.

She looks good.

She’s playing a game with me.

I clench my hands so hard my nails bite into the creases of my palms.

Raven wants to play hard to get with the fuckingslut.

Okay, little bird. Let’s play.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

18 Years Old

“Pretty boyyyy,” Jess whines, grabbing my shirt. We’re at a Halloween party, and I’m dressed as an elf. I wanted to go as a pirate, but Jess wanted me to go as an elf. Said it makes her hot, and I’m not gonna lie, it feels good to have a girl falling all over me. And not just any girl—Axel’s ex.

Axel ignores us from across the room. He’s actually been ignoring us all night, but this is on him. He cheated on Jess. She came to me with a broken heart, and there was something about the tears on her pretty face that I couldn’t say no to.

Jess sways into me, and I stumble back. The music is loud and disorienting, and my head is spinning. I don’t normally drink at these—that’s Axel’s gig—but tonight, I have a pretty girl on my arm, and it’s Halloween.

I’m pretty sure I’m drunk.

“Wanna get out of here?” Jess looks up at me. She’s so close I’d normally be able to see her, but everything looks more fuzzy than usual.
