Chapter Eighteen

 Emma

 Three months later

Amy and Lily run across the yard just as the moving truck pulls in followed by at least ten motorcycles. Cain hops out of the truck with a huge smile on his face. “You know seeing you here like this is something I could really get used to.”

“Oh really?” I say as I wrap my arms around his neck. “Guess that’s it’s a good thing that we are moving in then huh?”

“Oh you have no idea baby.” He picks me up and spins me around.

“Ewe!” Amy yells as the girls come running up. “Can you guys stop doing that all the time?”

“Yea, dad. It’s gross.” Lily says, her blond hair blowing in the wind.

Cain bends down picking Lily up. “You remember that kissing boys is gross until you’re at least thirty. Got it?”

She laughs as he tickles her. The two of them have really formed a bond and its amazing to see. Cain was there when Lily woke up and asked her what she thought if he made her a part of her family. He said she seemed confused at first but said it sounded like fun. Within a couple days you would have never known that she went through the tragedy she did.

“You know babe,” I look up at him as he puts Lily down. “I think these girls might need a boy to keep them on their toes and threaten any boyfriends that might try and come around.”

“Oh really?” I say in shock at what he’s talking about.

“Yea I think it’s inevitable.” He shrugs before smiling at me.

“You drive me crazy Cain Russell.”

He pulls me close pressing a kiss to my lips.

“And you make me happier than I ever thought possible Emma Sanders.”
