“All right, Luce, one, two, three.” I thrust my arms forward watching her sail through the window breathing a sigh of relief.

“Your turn, baby girl.” I pick up Nikki needing to get her out of here so I can find Tracie. “All right, ready? One, two, three.” I toss her and she clears the window the same way Lucy did.

I grab the jacket I originally used, leaving the same way I charged in, as I jump through the doorway and land on the damp grass outside, I hear the fire truck sirens in the background.

Shit, I need to get the fuck out of here.

I run to the side of the house. “I gotta go before they get here and try to keep me for questioning. He say anything about where they were going?”

“No, he’s seriously lost it though, Torch. He fed you guys that information. He was behind the other MC.” Lucy’s voice is hoarse.

Fuck.

The sirens are getting closer. I run to the truck, speeding away before I get caught here.

My head is spinning as what Lucy told me sinks in.

I’m going to kill that motherfucker.

Chapter Twenty-Six

Tracie

A stabbing pain in my head wakes me up and I wince. I reach up to soothe the pain but my hands are bound behind me.

Memories start to flood back to me.

Viper.

He’s alive.

I force my eyes open and am shocked when I see that I’m at the clubhouse, at least what’s left of it.

“Ah, you finally woke up. I was going to start thinking of more creative ways to get you to open those eyes of yours.” Viper is standing over me. He bends down and lifts me up, sitting me in a wooden chair.

I look around at the burned remnants of a place that I called my home for as long as I can remember.

“I, personally, think this is an improvement.” He laughs as he kicks something over. “I thought taking you here was quite ironic considering this is where it all started with us.” His tongue drags over his lips and my stomach turns.

“Why are you doing this?” My voice is hoarse and shaky.

“Well, see that’s a much more complex question than you realize. You might think our history started the night I took your sweet virginity, but really I took something much more precious to you long before that.” He turns toward me with the biggest smile on his face. “Honestly, I couldn’t believe that no one figured it out.”

I decide that if can keep him talking, maybe I can buy myself some time. “Figured what out?”

“What really happened to your parents that night.” His eyes narrow at me as he watches for my reaction.

My parents? What does he mean?

“See, someone like me doesn’t belong in the background. I’m a fucking leader. I belong in power. Your father was too much of a bitch to hold that VP position. Everyone knew it. All he ever talked about was keeping the peace and other bullshit. We are fucking outlaws, not goddamn altar boys.” His fist punches the nearest wall. “I knew that if an officer position opened up, I would be next in line. Shooter and I were always close. However, I also knew your jackass father hated me and I couldn’t take the chance that he might change Shooter’s mind.”

What is he saying? My parents got into an accident.

“Brake lines are a funny thing, you know. They’re meant to save your life, but they can also cost you if they are tampered with.” He winks at me and his insinuation hits me.

A sharp pain goes right through my chest. “You killed my parents?”

He raises his right hand. “Guilty as charged.”
