Adam lay on top of him, panting.

“That was incredible,” Adam said.

He carefully withdrew and hopped off the bed. Jonas watched him take the condom off and throw it in the bin.

Ever the considerate lover, Adam ducked into the en suite and came back with a towel. He gently cleaned Jonas before helping him over.

“You okay?” Adam asked.

“Are you kidding?” Jonas replied. He was totally spent.

After Adam had finished with the towel, he threw it on the floor and lay next to Jonas. Perspiration still mingling in the hairs on his chest.

“What a stupid move that was,” Adam said.

“Always the best kind.”

“I’m being serious,” Adam said.

Jonas sat bolt upright. “Are you saying you regret it?”

His heartbeat had been slowing after the orgasm. Now it was right back up.

“Of course I’m not saying that,” Adam replied, placing his hand on Jonas’ leg. “I don’t want you to think you’re in a difficult position.”

The rage burnt white-hot inside Jonas.

“Do you think I could have done all we’ve just done because I was in a difficult position? Fucking hell, Adam.”

To his credit, Adam looked embarrassed.

“Ignore me. I’m talking shit. I’ve never been with anyone from our world before.”

“And you think I have?”

Jonas could understand where Adam was coming from. Unfortunately, he hadn’t picked a very good time to have this discussion. Suddenly Jonas felt naked and vulnerable.

He leapt off the bed and grabbed his underwear.

“Don’t go,” Adam said.

“I think it’s for the best.”

Adam joined Jonas in the middle of the room and wrapped his arms around him. Jonas allowed himself to be drawn into a hug. His face nestling against Adam’s chest. The hairs tickling his nose.

It was a place he’d hoped to spend most the night.

“I’m crap at communicating,” Adam said. “I’d like to get to know you more but it will have to be secret.”

Jonas looked up at him. Adam was way taller. It was one of the attractions. He made Jonas feel protected. Although not quite at that moment.

“Are you sure you’re not hedging your bets in case another woman comes along? Or even Jen returns to stake her claim?”

Adam ran his hand through Jonas’ hair. “Of course not. I want to give us the best chance possible.”

“Us?”

“Yes you twat. Us.”
