Mr. Clash laughed and had me follow him inside. “I’m fresh out of Skittles, kid, but I’m sure we can find you something.”

I stayed in step with him, excited that I found Mr. Clash, just like Mommy asked me to. But as we walked inside, I started to feel very shy. Everywhere I looked there were big, angry looking men staring at me, and I found myself clutching the back of Mr. Clash’s legs.

“Don’t worry, kiddo. I’m not going to let anyone hurt you. Besides, they may look mean and angry, but they’re my friends, and if they’re my friends, they’ll be your friends too.”

 “Really?”

He smiled. “Absolutely. Now come on, I got a certain friend I need to find.”

I followed behind him, realizing that even though I was scared, I felt safe when Mr. Clash was around. A lot safer than I ever did with my daddy. Maybe Mr. Clash can be my new daddy? Would he even like that? Just the thought of having a daddy who didn’t yell at me or hit me made me so happy. Would Mommy be okay with me asking Mr. Clash to be my new daddy? Hopefully, those bad men won’t hurt her, that way I can ask her the question myself.

Alex clutched my leg as we made our way into the clubhouse. I could feel his heart beating through his fingertips that dug into the flesh of my calf muscle as he held me tight.

I knew the club wasn’t the best place to bring a kid, but I didn’t have a choice, not when his mother had been missing for the last three hours. Something in my gut told me that this had her ex’s name written all over it, but what that actually meant for her, I didn’t know.

It's possible he could be a cold-blooded killer underneath that fancy suit and tie, but if I had to guess, he was mostly talk, using his size and good looks to get him by in life.

Memories of my night with Gina flooded into my brain. The man had wrecked her for others… cowering at the slightest touch, submitting without subconsciously knowing she was doing it. My heart still broke over the fear that resonated in her eyes, replaced with utter shame as I stripped off her clothes to take in every luscious curve, admiring her from head to toe.

“Don’t cover yourself up,” I was practically pleading. “You should never be ashamed of such fucking beauty.”

Shaking my head, I had to block out the image of her apple cheeks, tinging an embarrassed shade of pink as I touched her bare skin for the first time. Thinking about it just had me raging hard again, and right now, I didn’t need a hard-on distracting me. I just needed help.

Snyder quirked a single brow, lifting it in question when I approached the table where he sat with Sandman and Ranger, toting a toddler behind me.

“What the fuck is this shit?” Snyder asked, motioning to Alex whose eyes widened in fright. “Shit, sorry. Ehrm, I mean, sorry. Dang, there’s another dollar for the swear jar,” Snyder grumbled, fishing four quarters from his pocket and placing them on the table in front of him. “Shasta wants me to stop swearing before the baby comes. She says she doesn’t want our child coming out swearing like a sailor and sucking down tequila filled bottles straight from the womb.”

The table laughed, but I didn’t have time for this shit right now. I needed to find Gina.

“Look, Snyder, we all know you got your nose shoved so far up your woman’s pussy that it’s all you think about, but I don’t have time for that right now. I know you’ve been questioning where I’ve been lately, and wondering where my loyalty to this club lies. Well, I can assure you, it’s definitely not with those asshole Dismembered Crows. My loyalty is one hundred percent Outlaw. However, my heart has been a bit off kilter lately since this little dude stumbled into my life. This is Alex. Alex, these are my brothers, Snyder, Sandman, and Ranger.”

Alex cowered behind me, frightened tears starting to form in his eyes. “I want my mommy,” he cried, using my jeans to sop up a few tears that spilled out.

I took a knee, making sure I was eye level with the kid that easily stole my heart a few months ago. “I know, little guy. That’swhy we’re here. We’re going to find her, and they are gonna help me.”

 “What’s going on, Clash?”

I stood up, keeping a firm hand on Alex’s head as he clutched my leg and peeked out from behind me.

“It’s his mom, Gina. Alex here said that some bad men took her, and she told him to find me. I need your guys’ help. Please. We have to find his mom.”

 Snyder smirked. “Gina, huh?”

“Shut the fuck up, asshole,” I growled, knowing he was referring to my little Freudian Slip the other day.

“Are you thinking abduction?” Ranger questioned, having the same curious gaze as the rest of my brothers. None of them could believe what they were seeing. Me… the all-mighty Clash, was head over heels for a young mom and her son. It was crazy, and if someone had asked me ten years ago if I ever saw myself in this position, I’d probably laugh in their face and call them an asshole. But here I am, ready to do whatever it took to find my woman and make her mine.

“Yes, but not in the way you’re thinking. I think her ex had something to do with it.”

“W—Why?” Sandman questioned. His stutter was getting better, but it was still hard to see him like this, knowing the man he used to be compared to the stuttering mess he was now.

“Because my daddy is mean and wants to kill mommy,” Alex whispered, but loud enough for all three of them to hear.

Snyder took a swig of his beer and swore under his breath, placing another two quarters on the table. “This ducking swear jar is going to be the end of me. I ducking swear!” he practically shouted, making everyone but Alex laugh. “At this rate, I’ll have our kid’s college fund paid by Wednesday.”

Like always, Snyder was bringing the conversation back to him and Shasta. My fists curled by my side, ready to swing, but then a tiny hand wiggled into my palm, nullifying the beast inside of me and making him purr like a kitten.
