Standing, I stepped around a confused looking Amber and grabbed my jacket from the couch beside Rock.
“Leaving so soon?” he crooned, the smug asshole that he was.
“Yeah, I have to head back to my apartment. I’ll be in touch tomorrow, but call me if anything comes up. I might have some other business to take care of during the day, but I should be around again tomorrow night.”
Amber smiled like I had just handed her a winning lottery ticket, but I didn’t have time to deal with that right now.
“Okay, well…call me, baby,” she said again, and the words made me cringe.
But Rocco just laughed. “Yeah, call me, baby.”
I flipped him off as I stormed out of the office.
