“This is still so new, I know, but…” She looked down, suddenly a little shy.

“It’s not. I get it.” I shook my head, still stroking her cheek. “Actually, you know that small lilac blanket from the sofa? The one that’s hardly big enough for a lap?”

“Yeah…”

“It smells like you, so I may have packed it in my bag for this weekend. I don’t like the idea of being away from you or your scent any more than you do. I assure you, it’s totally mutual. Also, you’re welcome to take any clothing of mine that you want. I like the idea of you being wrapped up in my scent.”

Her eyes lit up. “Don’t say that. I’m growing so fast that yours are the only clothes I’m going to fit into in no time!”

“That sounds the opposite of a problem.” I grinned, still content to smooth my thumb over her cheek.

Mable’s eyes flared wide. “You’ll run out of clothes!”

“We’ll go shopping for more. I’ll even let you pick them out.”

“Bu—”

I cut her off with a kiss, sweeping my tongue across the seam. Mable immediately let me in, and I would be thinking about the taste of her until I got back and could do this again. Being away from my sweet Mable was going to test me in ways I’d never experienced, and if kissing her was all I could do right now, I was going to milk it for all it was worth.

She moaned against my lips, and I breathed her in. Mable melted beneath my touch so beautifully, and I couldn’t wait to get her back in bed again. When she was breathless, I pulled back, adoring the look of pleased shock on her face. That expression of bewilderment was one of my favorites.

“Sleep with that shirt, princess. And when I get home, I’m going to fuck you in it.”

Her stare flared wide, a blush covering her face, but she grinned and nodded.

“That’s my girl.”

Chapter 30

Mable

Weekends were supposed to fly by, that was the nature of them. Only, the weekend with the boys away was dragging on so slowly that I was starting to lose my mind. It was only a training camp and a game, but in a few short months, they would be back into the hockey season, leaving daily for training or games.

Mable

You’ve been gone for three hours, and all I’ve done is nap and look at a textbook.

Percy

We are on the bus now. I’ve got several hours in an enclosed space with these idiots.

Jasper

Shut up, I’m a ray of sunshine.

Saint

You’re a pain in our asses.

Percy

That’s rich, coming from you!

Devin

You see what I have to deal with?
