That is our society. We love and take care of each other. I’m a commander of the royal army. I was sent to Earth with the eligible men and women on my team to find mates to bring back with us.

The moment we landed, I left them with their instructions to meet back in a week at the ship. It’s cloaked in a large field just outside of this city. We all went separate ways. I found myself in this loud place with all of the little humans.

Now I wonder if this is some type of place that is a learning facility, and that makes me want to leave. Yet, I’m intrigued by this place and what they are doing here.

The music and dancing. The differences in the humans. The markings. The glasses in their hands.

I stand in the middle of all of these humans and bide my time. Several more tiny humans are approaching me. The women are always touching my arms and staring at me with odd looks. I turn each one down and when I’m tired of the interaction, I move to my left where seats are waiting.

I reach a booth that has only one woman sitting in the corner. She’s got long black hair. Her green eyes make me want to drown in them. Her body is relaxed into the seat and I take a moment to appreciate the curves I can see from here. The table hides most of her from my view, but what I can see intrigues me.

I wonder if we are compatible?

“Is this seat taken?”

“Not at all. Please, join me.”

Her voice wraps around my throat and squeezes it shut. So sultry and needy. She needs me to take care of her. She wants me to sit with her.

“Thank you. May I ask your name?”

“Only if you give me yours,” she replies easily with a smile.

“Drainok. Drainok Fythra. Pleasure to meet you,” I reply easily.

“Zahra Rhodes. The pleasure is all mine,” she purrs.

Humans can purr. Why do they need to purr? Fascinating. It sounds so seductive coming from this little thing in front of me.

“Zahra. Beautiful. What is this place for?”

She looks at me with her head tilted and her mouth slightly open. Then looks out at the people around us. When she turns back to me she offers a smile.

“Have you never been to a club before?” I shake my head no. “Well. It’s a place people come to hang out, have fun, get drunk, and then go home.”

“So they aren’t here to fuck?”

Zahra spits her drink out, that she just brought to her lips, all over the table in front of us. She coughs and then laughs loudly. Her laugh is a thing of beauty. I want to make her laugh forever. When she stops coughing she wipes her mouth and then moves her glass away from her.

“Umm… they do actually. But usually they take them home first. You are weird. I like it.”

She likes me. See. This isn’t so bad. Earth women are easy.

CHAPTER THREE

Zahra

“If you’ve never been to a club, then why come to one now?”

The wonder at this mysterious man in front of me can’t be stopped. He asks the weirdest things, and yet, it feels like I was destined to meet this man. His paint on his skin is fabulous. Did he do it himself, or did someone help him? He has elf ears seamlessly glued to the tips of his ears. It holds his silver-haired wig back from his face. At least it looks like a wig.

Now that he is closer, I can see what looks like painted scales on his arm, maybe even done with latex or something like that then painted. He has this collar around his neck and something on his wrists to complete his outfit. Bare chested and hmm what a chest it is. He looks more sinful than any man I’ve ever met.

And I know that I will be going home with this man for the night before the conversation has gone anywhere between us. I want to know what is in those pants of his and beneath all of that paint.

“I’m looking for someone,” his reply doesn’t surprise me.

“Who would that be?”
