“Will he?”

“Doubt it.”

They laughed, and the moment was so light-hearted and coupley, Douglas’s breath caught. He couldn’t resist lifting Mav’s head and pulling him into another slow but deep kiss. He explored every inch of his mouth. When Douglas dragged his mouth away, they were both gasping for air.

“I need another drink. You want to choose a movie?”

“Sure.”

Douglas watched as Mav stood, collecting their cups and retreating to the kitchen. He was as content at Mav’s apartment as he was in his own, which shouldn’t have been as surprising as it was. Mav’s place felt more like a home, whereas his seemed like a show home, and there was a vast difference. He’d love nothing more than to be settled into a place where he was more content and less sterile.

If they were to stay together, which he hoped they would, despite what his father said, Douglas wanted everything Mav was willing to give him. Some days, Douglas couldn’t believe how much his opinions had changed. He’d been so happy being happy-go-lucky and single, getting his rocks off at the club and occasionally somewhere else, but now he wanted more. He wanted everything he never imagined he could have.

When Mav came back in with steaming mugs of tea, he raised an eyebrow at Douglas. “Did you not find anything to watch?”

“Huh?”

Mav’s forehead creased as he put the mugs on the table. “The movie? Did you not find one?”

“Oh, sorry, I didn’t look.” He rested his cheek on his knuckles and gazed at Mav. “I got sidetracked.”

The corners of Mav’s mouth lifted. “Anything in particular?”

“I’m happy.”

Mav dropped into the seat next to him. “Me too.” He grinned at Douglas and reached for the remote.

Douglas watched while Mav flicked through the channels, commenting on each one he found before switching over to on-demand. They both had a love of superhero films, so finding something to watch was unlikely to ever be a problem. He had never been as content as he was in that moment, wrapping Mav in his arms as they settled in to watch the villains be beaten by the heroes.

By the time the film had finished, he was as horny as ever. They had spent half the film kissing and canoodling, raising their arousal levels until Mav was straddling Douglas’s hips like he’d done earlier that evening. Their kisses deepened until they had no choice but to part.

“You taste so good,” Mav groaned.

“You too.”

Douglas scooted to the end of the seat and stood, holding Mav. Mav wrapped his legs around his waist with a yelp and a laugh.

“Be careful. I can’t afford to injure a prince.” Before he stepped forward, Mav halted him. “I need the tablet. I have to check something before tomorrow. It’ll only take me a second.”

Douglas narrowed his eyes. “A lesser man would worry about why you were thinking about work when you’re in his arms, but I understand your need.” He slid one arm further under Mav’s ass and reached down for the tablet, passing it to Mav before gripping him again and stalking forward.

“You know me better than that.”

“You bet I do.”

He set Mav on the bed, encouraging him to wiggle until his head was on the pillow, then Douglas indicated for Mav to get on with his work while he went toworkon Mav’s trousers. They both wore black suits that day, and freeing Mav from the confines of his trousers as he was busy working was a delicious experience. How much could Douglas get away with before it became too much for Mav to concentrate?

Once Mav was in his briefs and his undone shirt, Douglas quickly divested himself of his clothes and climbed between Mav’s legs. Sliding his hands up the other man’s legs and across his stomach, Douglas blew hot air across his briefs, receiving a minute squirm. He fastened his mouth to the outline of Mav’s cock.

“Why was the meeting with the archaeology charity moved to tomorrow?”

Douglas paused, his stomach fluttering. He lifted his head, dragging his bottom lip between his teeth as he decided how to answer. Mav raised the tablet so he could see under it.

“Douglas?”

Douglas tapped a beat on Mav’s leg and pulled himself to his elbows. “I requested the change.”

“It’s not a problem. I just wondered why?”
