He is only dressed in a scarlet sweater and jeans under a black, woolen coat. He will never be persuaded into a suit, unlike his brother and me, even on game nights.

“You scored the biggest victory in Bay Rebels history.” Robyn hugs me tighter. She is bundled up in a warm pea green coat against the cold night air, over a green woolen dress, along with gloves. Eden’s gray scarf is wrapped around her neck. “For once, my phone and messages aren’t blowing up about some PR disaster or a nightmare on the ice. Instead, it’s filled with journalists planning to run stories on the underdog Rebels winning against the giants of the NHL.”

I can’t hide my grin.

I have just played the most offensive game of my life against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Plus, we won:13 — 1.

Seeing Robyn and Shay in my private world of On the RACK, as well as how they not only accepted that side of me but fitted like part of me I’d only been waiting to find, energized me in a way that I didn’t know I had been needing.

Importantly, I could tell that Shay needed it just as much.

This evening, my joy playing in sync with my team reminded me of my earliest passion for the sport; how fun it is.

With Shay at my side on the ice, and Robyn and Eden standing on the side of the rink, I felt fucking invincible.

Fleet is a genius at motivation, whether subs or players.

The exotic dancing bet made Shay and me more competitive with each other than ever before.

Normally, I’m possessive of my cucciolo’s body. But he’ll be wearing a mask. He’ll be in a safe space and consenting. And I know that this is a fantasy of his, as much as he hasn’t done anything like it before.

I want to watch him dancing on that stage, knowing that nobody can touch him (no matter how much they’re desperately desiring to), and that if I get my way, no one else ever will again.

When I saw Shay talking to Everett with such intensity, I’d been surprised.

Everett is charming but reserved. He rarely speaks to anyone, and almost never strangers.

Kay isn’t one to be surprised by almost anything but even she raised her eyebrow.

It’s why she didn’t scold Everett for taking so long to bring over the drinks. She may be strict with Everett, but in her own way, she loves him.

Cassian nor Everett are like the extrovert Axel.

They’re more like Eden; they don’t make friends easily. I hope that Everett can talk more to Shay, and Cassian to Eden.

I take a deep breath, steadying myself at the memory of how Shay fell to his knees in subspace.

I will have to keep an eye on how fast he falls into subspace in that type of environment. It took me by surprise but it was fucking beautiful.

Shay is my perfect sub.

“Cody and Neve have both sent excited congratulations messages.” Robyn catches my eye. “Neve didn’t even spend the game texting me her doodles of you having Chuck Tingle moments with your stick.”

I stare at her. “Neve normally sends youwhat…?”

Eden carries Shay and my heavy hockey bags into the palatial foyer and pushes the front door shut with his foot. “You both scored 6 goals each. Who lost the bet?”

Shay spins around, pointing his stick at me. “Good bloody point.”

Robyn looks up at me, delighted. “I say that youbothdid. Then I get to watch you both dance naked.”

Shay and I freeze, staring at each other.

Eden’s lips twitch. “Logical.”

“Traitor, bro.” Shay pouts.
