He sighed into her mouth, deepening their kiss.Patience, patience,he chanted in his head, whether it was for his bear who was quite peeved with their mate or himself, he didn’t know. He said it to himself again for good measure to keep both reigned in. His mate needed it, he couldn’t forget that.
She slid off his lap and crawled to the top of the bed. Seeing her bent over, was all it took to snap his control. He gripped her hips, pausing her before she could turn over and sit.
“Stay, just like that,” he ordered.
She looked over her shoulder at him and every ounce of common sense fled his body. The picture she made…He damn near ripped his shirt as he snatched it off in his haste to get to her body. The khakis were next to be tossed behind him. His bear rumbled through his body as he ran his hands across Calita’s thighs. He bunched the silk of her robe, pulling her hips back into his. She threw her head back and moaned as he positioned her at the head of his erection.
“Yes or no, love?” he whispered, desperate to be inside her.
She turned her head, and caught his eye. “Absolutely.”
He pushed into her wet sheath, slow, drawing out every second. He closed his eyes and sighed in pleasure. Calita’s head went back and the moan she released burrowed into his heart. He kept his strokes slow, savoring his mate. They still needed to continue their conversation, he wanted to push her for a more definitive answer. But with her every squeeze on his shaft that conversation got pushed back further and further. Once he had her, then his mind would clear and they could finish talking. Calita reached down and touched herself and that was all it took. His mind went blank, a haze of need descending. He pulled out, and her back arched, this time taking him deeper as he thrusted forward. Yeah, they could talk, much later.

He growled, low and long as his phone rang for a third time. Who in the hell was calling him this early on a Sunday? It was the only day he allowed himself to sleep in. He peeked open an eye and saw that it was a little after eight am. He sighed and rolled over, grabbing his phone off the bedside table.
“Yeah.”
“Hey, Alpha, did I wake you? You’re usually up—”
“What do you want?” Lord above, female bears were so extra.
“Well, I was looking for Calita’s number.”
He grunted.Yeah right.“Did you ask Selena?” He opened his eyes as Charmain got quiet.
“Full disclosure, I was driving by, and I saw your truck at the hotel so—”
“Oh for God’s sake,” he muttered.
Charmain snickered. “A few of the women were going to do brunch today in Pleasant Hill and we wanted to see if Calita wanted to join us.”
He rolled his eyes and held his phone over his shoulder. He’d felt Calita wake moments ago. She sat up and gave him a startled look.
She grabbed his phone, but watched him. “What’s going on?”
“Meddling.” He kicked from under the blankets and headed for the shower.
There would be no morning sex for him. That much was clear. He sighed, extremely put upon, and his bear grumbled in agreement.

What in the world? She ignored the phone for a moment, watching Simon’s ass, as he walked, unashamed, into her bathroom nude. How a man his size moved so fluidly put her in awe. She looked at the phone and brought it up to her ear. She stretched, her body deliciously loose and relaxed.
“Yes?”
“Hi, Calita, it’s Charmain. I own the gas station not too far from the hotel.” The woman’s chipper voice put her at ease.
She racked her mind to put a face to the name. “Okay?”
“Well, a bunch of the ladies are having brunch over at Morton’s in Pleasant Hill. They have bottomless mimosas and the most amazing waffles,” Charmain sighed gustily.
Any hesitance she would’ve felt disappeared under the excitement in the other woman’s voice. She hadn’t had friends in a while, and besides Selena and Anika, she hardly knew any of other women in the clan. She could probably count the amount of friends she had ever had on one hand. In high school, she and Selena had stuck to themselves, and the one year she’d finished of college, she’d spent it wishing she was home, so she had not made any new friends.
There were some fellow chefs from the culinary school she went to, but David had been so controlling, and her work schedule so hectic they soon fell to the way side. She’d been in town for a year, it was time she started making new friends.
