Rebecca scoffed, “Lydia don’t know her place.”

“Well, she seems to want to keep me in mine. You know what will happen if I got involved with the Felix. She won’t be the only one with something to say about it.”

Her grandmother sighed.

“I know what you think, Grandma.”

“I’ve said nothing, Savannah. I know you feel your power awakening. You left the prowl before you could learn what that meant.”

Savi flinched.

Rebecca narrowed her eyes. “Ah, so you do know what it means, and you still plan to fight.”

“I’m not made for a prowl, nor a Tribond, and we both know it.”

“The only thing I know is that I tire of you repeating that same mess about prowl life. But I guess you have to tell yourself something to excuse you giving up a mating bond. I wish you good luck with that, granddaughter, but to your mates I wish even better luck. Now, get back in here and come help ready this food to be carted to the clearing. I for one am happy to have such strong backed men coming into this prowl.”

“Good lord, grandmother.” She laughed following Rebecca back into the house.
