“You have my word.” Carlos promised.

They shook hands and left.

Derrick was quiet as he navigated the dirt roads to leave the alpha’s property.

“He definitely knows Savannah.” Theo commented from the back seat.

“That he does.” Carlos agreed. “We’ll find out how, soon enough.”

“What do you think?” Theo leaned forward and rested his arms on their seat.

“I think he’s being truthful.” Derrick commented.

“There was no discernable hostility while we were on the land. The women in the meeting were strong, but neither of them gave us push back. There will be a bit of jostling throughout the hierarchy.” Carlos smiled in anticipation. “We’ll have to find a way to let them fight it out without it becoming contentious.”

“Could be fun to do a tournament, let both sides get their animals out while we work out the hierarchy.” Derrick suggested.

Theo laughed. “Yeah, that could be fun actually.”

“We will thrive here.” His Beta announced, his voice rang with conviction.

“I felt the same welcome from them as the land gave me when we crossed the state line.” Carlos rubbed his hands together excited.

Derrick grunted. “It will be an adjustment, but well worth it.”

“We’re home.” Theo said, moving back.

Carlos sighed. “We are.”

His panther moved through his body underlining his best friend’s words. They’d found a place to call home and it felt damn good.
