“Roger that, Razor,” Cooper replied. He switched his comms to receive only as Madison did the same. “You'd better get changed before Mother arrives. There’s not much privacy in this room.”
Madison smiled flirtatiously. “No, there’s not. I’ll be enjoying the view inside this room the entire time we’re here.”
Cooper took her into his arms. “Not as much as I will be.” He pressed a kiss to her lips. “Change into something sexy, Blondie. I want to show my beautiful wife off around the resort tonight. And I’m hoping we can stand down for a few hours after our target’s tucked into bed for the night.”
“That would be great. It would be a shame not to enjoy that nice, big, king-sized bed.”
Then Cooper laughed. “Something I’m sure Crash and MP are thinking too. But I do feel bad for Lambchop and Lah-lee. The lack of privacy in this room could be a touch awkward for them, I’d guess.”
“They’re both professionals. I’m sure they’ve already figured out how to make it work,” Madison said as she opened her suitcase. She quickly retrieved a sundress and her sandals. She changed into her strapless bra and then whipped her hair into a bun onthe top of her head from the ponytail she’d pulled it into when she’d stepped from the plane when they’d landed.
“Oh, I like,” Cooper said, pressing kisses to the back of her neck and shoulders. “Bare and beautiful.”
“Down, boy,” she said. “Hopefully, there’ll be time for that later.”
A few minutes later, as Cooper changed, there was a knock at the door. Madison peered out the peephole and saw Mother. She let him in as Cooper pulled his light gray pants up.
“Don’t you two look fancy,” Mother said. He wore beige cargo shorts and a white T-shirt.
“Do you want us to order you room service before we go? There’s a butler’s cabinet they can put it in from the outside, and then you grab it from here for contactless delivery,” Madison said, showing him the compartment built into the wall.
“No, I’m fine, Mac and Yvette had food delivered to their room for Garcia and me. I just finished a burger and fries.”

Lambchop and Laura Lee nursed two club sodas with lemons and munched on some of the mixed nuts that were out for guests at the bar. The seats on the patio were comfortable, and with the sun hanging low in the western sky, the temperature was bearable.
Mother broadcast that the lights went on in their target’s room, just as Laura Lee was going to say something about being famished. The nuts weren’t doing it for her. From where they sat, she could smell the scents wafting through the air from the buffet, the Italian, and the Asian restaurants. They would follow Ruiz to whichever restaurant he went to. She was hoping for the Italian.
Cooper and Madison were seated at the Preferred Club Bar, which their target would need to pass when leaving his room. They sipped diet sodas with lime in tall fancy glasses. They were treated to hot appetizers at the bar, so they didn’t suffer the samefate as Lambchop and Laura Lee of having to smell incredible food and not be able to eat it.
Roth and Briana sat on a bench out in front of their building, sipping water bottles and both getting very hungry. There was a restaurant not too far from their location, a pool grill, and the burgers and fries smelled amazing. “Finally, this guy gets up. I hope he doesn’t have to shower and get cleaned up yet. I’m starving,” Roth transmitted. They would eat at a different restaurant than Ruiz, probably the nearby grill, to be between him and his room if he headed back before Garcia was done. They’d be there to intercept him before he reached his building.
Yvette laughed through comms. “Such a rough assignment.”
“I do recommend the burger and fries,” Mother broadcast. “Most tasty.”
“Yeah, compared to the other high-end restaurants, I’m sure it’s delicious,” Briana said sarcastically. Though she truly didn’t care where they’d eat.
“We’ve got a good view into his room at night,” Mother transmitted. “He must not realize everyone can see in. He’s not shy, walking around naked as he’s getting his clothes ready with the curtains wide open. He sleeps in the buff too, just an FYI.”
“Now there’s a picture I didn’t need in my head,” Yvette said.
“Oh, and he just passed by the doors to the balcony. Good picture here too. He could use a little manscaping, though,”Garcia added. He sat in front of the monitor displaying the camera feed from the micro camera mounted on the balcony to look into Ruiz’s room.
“Thanks,” Yvette told Garcia, who chuckled. “More added to the picture I didn’t want in my head.”
Mac and Garcia both laughed.
Yvette traded places with Garcia. “He’s dressing nicely. I don’t think he’s going to the poolside grill for dinner,” she said.
“Let’s hope he’s staying on property,” Madison said. “We’re not set up to follow him offsite.”
“He hasn’t left yet, per my source,” Mac answered.
“He must be getting ready to leave his room. His muscle just showed up near his building’s exit,” Roth transmitted.
“Why isn’t he staying in the same building?” Cooper wondered aloud.
