Jamie pouted at me, but it only made me laugh because he was still going in circles.

Finally, the merry-go-round stopped and Jamie climbed off… and immediately stumbled into my arms with a giggle.

“We need to go on the swings next,” he laughed.

“Absolutely not,” I protested. “Did you forget why we’re here?”

“Of course not! We’re here so that I can plan how I want to do things for the fair this weekend.”

“Does your magic show require you to go on the swings?”

“That’s why I have to get it out of my system now!”

I turned him in my arms and kissed him. “No. I love you, omega-ours. That’s why I’m not going to let you on the swings. What if you fell?”

“They’reswings! I’m not going to fall.”

“Swings designed for children, not pregnant men.”

Jamie scowled and pulled out his cell phone, tapped on it several times, then turned the screen toward me. “They’re safe! See! A quick search says most support up to two hundred and fifty pounds, and even with the baby, I’m nowhere near that. I’m going on the swings.”

“I won’t push you high, just enough to be moving.”

“Deal!” he cheered.

I leaned in and kissed him. “Why the urge to play on all the equipment?”

“Why not? We’re here, might as well have fun!”

I smiled as he skipped—well as good as a man with a six-month baby bump could skip—toward the swings.

This was the Jamie that Declan and I had fallen in love with so long ago—carefree and fun, and absolutely determined to get his way.

He’d never lost that spark, but now that he was ours, I saw how the long years of waiting for us had dimmed it. But it was back to its full brilliance, and I couldn’t wait to see him pass that joy for life onto our kids.

Kids… We were about to be fathers.

“Come on, slowpoke!” Jamie called from where he was already sitting on a swing. “Push!”

I strode over, stood behind his swing, and pushed.

Jamie laughed as his feet left the ground, and a happy warmth spread through me.

Who knew there could be such joy from the simple act of pushing my pregnant mate on a swing?

“Get out, get out, get out!” Jamie grumbled, poking his overdue stomach.

“Maybe he heard his dads talking about how much we like being inside you and decided that’s the place to be,” Declan teased.

“One: ew! Two: how dare you tempt me with thoughts of your knots right now?”

“Do you want me to call your doctor about that membrane thing?” I asked.

Jamie scrunched his nose. “I’d rather walk the mall again.”
