“Am…” I took a deep breath. “I heard his current assistant was mated recently…”
Another laugh. “Yes, you’re interviewing for my job. I pushed back my move to help them onboard whomever they hire.”
“Them?”
She blinked. “Yes, I thought the job description I sent over made that clear. The executive assistant supports the executive team since no single member requires an assistant to himself yet.”
I swallowed. “Oh… ok.”
We stepped into the elevator and she pushed the button for the top floor. “Mr. McKinney, Mr. Olsen, and I will be conducting the interview. The other two members of the executive team are out of town on business and will review interview footage before the final selection. Are you ok with being recorded?”
“Um… sure.”
The elevator opened to reveal a tasteful and elegant office area. A patterned granite floor led to a large curved wood reception desk with a surrounding counter, guiding eyes to the hallways behind it. Carpeted seating areas were on either side. I glanced back to see glass-paneled conference rooms flanking the elevator.
“This way,” Darlene said.
I turned back and followed her past the desk. “We’re not going to one of the conference rooms?”
She chuckled. “There’s a smaller one back here that the guys prefer to use. The big ones are for client or team meeting use.”
“Oh…”
“Executive offices and the smaller meeting room ring the floor,” she explained as we walked down a hall. “These interior rooms are document storage, break slash kitchen, and the like.”
“Big offices,” I mused.
She laughed. “Yes, but there are images to maintain. It’s better to meet with visitors in an office that matches the status.”
“I think I get it.”
Light flooded the area ahead of us, and I realized the meeting room had both internal and external windows. Two men sat at a conference table inside, laptops open.
“That’s a common sight,” Darlene stated. “They often like to work together, bouncing ideas off each other. Sometimes you’ll find all four in there, deep in discussion.”
“Really?”
“It’s what they did when they started the company, and apparently feel that continuing the tradition fuels growth.”
“I see.”
We paused at the door, where she knocked lightly. “Ready guys?” she asked, poking her head in.
The men nodded, and she opened the door to guide me in.
The scent of alpha hit me, rich and delicious. My omega side instantly latched onto it, and I wanted to surround myself with the aroma. My thoughts briefly drifted to being fucked hard while smelling it, and I had to fight to keep my cock soft.
“Mr. Ryan Lewis,” she announced as she walked towards the conference table.
The men stood, nodding toward me. They were both obviously alphas. The one on my left was tall with broad shoulders and thick black hair. The right was a bit shorter, with a fit frame and light brown hair.
“Please, have a seat,” the brown-haired alpha said, motioning to an empty chair. “I’m Linden McKinney. Chief operating officer.”
“Nice to meet you,” I managed as I moved to stand in front of the chair. He extended an arm, and I returned the handshake.
“Zane Olsen,” the other man said. “Chief marketing officer.”
“A pleasure,” I replied as I shook his hand as well.
