“Mm-hmm…”

“Is that all you needed?” he asked.

My stomach decided that it was the perfect time to rumble.

Shane laughed. “Apple and peanut butter it is… after my knot goes down that is.”

“Thank you,” I hummed.

“Anything for you, our gorgeous omega.”

I smiled and rested my arms on the cool countertop while waiting for his knot to go down.

My mates were so good to me.

“This cake is beautiful!” Aunt Sharon exclaimed from the dining room. “Where did you get it?”

“Roland made it,” I called from my spot on Papa’s couch.

“We’ll have to ask him to make one for the next shower,” she declared, walking into the living room and giving Ryan a pointed stare.

Ryan scowled and crossed his arms, which made her double down.

“I’m just saying,” she pressed. “Jace managed to land four alphas, surely you can get one.”

He huffed and stormed out.

“Sharon,” chided Aunt Janice.

“What?” Sharon protested. “Time’s ticking.”

“He’s fine,” Janice replied. “There’s no rush.”

“He needs…”

“To be left alone. This is Jace’s day.”

“It’s…”

I turned away from the argument and met Owen’s eyes. “Can you go check on him? It's been a bit hard for me to get up lately.”

Owen nodded. “I’ll talk to him.”

“Thank you.”

He stood and walked off in the same direction that Ryan had gone.

“She won’t be happy until everybody has a million kids,” my papa said softly, taking a seat next to me.

I nodded. “Yeah.”

He squeezed my knee. “I’m proud of you, and happy for you. You have four good alphas.”

I smiled. “I love them all.”
