“What do you need?” I asked, forcing myself not to meet his lean. I was at work after all.

Fuck, his smile was distracting.

“I heard that you have a study room with AV equipment that can be reserved for meetings. Is that right?”

“Yes.”

“Can non-students reserve the room?”

So not a student…

“Yes, but school and student groups come first.”

“Like they can bump a non-student group?”

I laughed and shook my head. “No. Not like that. Administration, departments, and recognized student groups get up to two months prior to use to reserve a room. The general public can only reserve a month out.”

“Is it booked most of the time?”

I shrugged. “This time of year, not so much. But yes towards the end of the semester when study groups get together to review class materials.”

“Hmmm…”

I blinked. “Are you expecting to need it then?”

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “Kinda. We’ll need it on a regular basis for several months.”

“You don’t need to tell me, because the study rooms are for private groups… But if I may ask?”

He chuckled. “It’s not a big secret. Have you heard about the big renovation project at the Valle Granja Recreation Center?”

“Yeah?”

“Well their AV rooms are part of it, and they’re going to halve the number of them during different phases of the renovation. It was already getting hard to schedule time to review training and game footage. I expect it’ll be nearly impossible now.”

“You’re on a sports team?”

He beamed at me. “I’m the captain.” He extended his hand over the counter. “Tyler. Tyler Devries.”

I accepted the handshake, noting how warm his hand was. “Ash Mitchell.”

“Nice to meet you Ash.”

“Likewise.” I paused. “What sport do you play?”

“Lacrosse.”

“We have a lacrosse team here?”

He laughed. “We do. A few, actually. Though they’re all recreational teams, except for the school ones.”

“I never knew.”

“Only enthusiasts do… for the most part.”

“I see. So you need to be able to review footage?”

“Yep!”
