He chuckled. “Absolutely not. What’s up?”
“I was wondering if you’ve had dinner yet.”
There was a brief pause, then, “Not yet, why?”
“I kinda made too much. I could always put leftovers away if you aren’t interested, but I thought… maybe…”
“What are we having?”
A grin crossed my face. “Lemon pepper chicken with sauteed vegetables.”
“Sounds delicious. I’ll be over in five.”
“I can come over there if you want.”
He laughed, and the sound warmed me in ways that I’d never suspected. “It’s fine. I’ll be right over.”
“Ok, see you soon.”
He ended the call, and I couldn’t help the happy-dance that I did next to the stove. I tried to give Justin space to reclaim his life, but I missed his constant presence.
It was as if a part of me was missing when he wasn’t there.
I jumped at the knock on the door, then opened it to reveal the sweet man standing there, looking cozy in a faded college t-shirt and sweatpants.
“I thought about changing,” he said, blush spreading from his cheeks down to his beard. “But…”
I smiled and ushered him in. “You look perfect.”
The blush deepened, and for just a second I had to force my cock to stay soft.
He was so beautiful.
“Have a seat,” I said. “I’ll get our plates.”
He nodded. “Thanks for having me.”
“Of course.” I strode into the kitchen, grabbed our plates, then returned and set one in front of him.
“So what are your plans for Thanksgiving?” I asked as I sat, needing to know that he wouldn’t be alone for the holiday.
Justin sighed. “My grandparents bought a little house up in Mountain Springs a few years ago, and this will be the first time my parents will have been able to go since they moved to the east coast. They’re insisting I join them.”
“Oh…” I replied. “It’ll probably be nice to get away from everything for a few days at least.”
“I guess…” He gave me a forced smile. “What about you?”
I shrugged, deciding not to press him about the fake smile. “My parents have invited Annie, Grace and I over, along with my brothers, sisters, and all the kids.”
“That sounds nice.”
“Yeah.” I paused. “You’re welcome to come if your plans change.”
“Are you sure?”
I nodded. “My parents always make too much, even with all those people. Besides, the more the merrier.”
He smiled, genuine that time. “Thank you, but I think the only way my plans will change is if a freak snowstorm shuts down the airports between now and Wednesday night.”
