“This is the life,” I moaned as the masseur worked the knots out of my back.
“I’m glad you could manage the time off to join us,” Theo replied with a content tone from where he was receiving his pregnancy massage.
“Me too,” I sighed.
“Me three,” chirped Zaya. “I needed an omega’s day, and the more the merrier.”
“But there are a bunch of omegas living along Billionaire Row now,” I stated.
“Beau and Cody both said they were too busy with work,” he replied. “Gabe is arguing a case in court this week. I invited David, but he said outings like this are for us younger men.”
“It’s not like forties is that much older,” Theo said as his masseur helped him turn over. “We’re all in our thirties now.”
“I think he sees us all as just a few years older than his grown daughter.”
“Makes sense,” I said. “But he should have more fun.”
“He’ll be at the party,” Zaya said. “There’s that at least.”
“Party?” I asked.
“Oh shit! Did I forget to invite you?”
“I guess?” I answered. “I mean, only if you want me there.”
“Oh, you’re totally invited. It’s Monday night so you should be done with work.”
“What’s the occasion?”
“My brother is coming to visit.”
“You have a brother?” I asked.
Zaya laughed. “Yeah. He tends to be a homebody and has only been out to visit once, after Bryce was born.”
“Why’s he coming now?” Theo asked.
Zaya’s laughter intensified. “Papa made him. He told Nate that he could either take a vacation, or Papa would put him on sabbatical.”
“A rich person had to be told to take a break?” Theo teased.
“Nate’s a workaholic,” Zaya explained. “He goes to work, then home and works more from his home office.”
“Yikes,” Theo replied. “Does he think he has to work extra for the money?”
“Probably,” Zaya giggled, then he grew more somber. “I understand where Papa’s coming from though. If it wasn’t for work, Nate would probably be a complete shut-in.”
“You think he’ll be ok with a party?” I asked.
Zaya sighed. “I don’t know. But it’s a small party, so hopefully it’ll be ok.”
“Define small.”
“Except for you, it’s all couples from Billionaire Row. But there’s no way I’m inviting Cody and Theo and leaving you out.”
I laughed. “We do come as a set, don’t we?”
“Yep!”
