My cheeks heated. “Being inside you was… I never realized it could feel that good.”
“Something you want to do again?”
I nodded. “Yeah.”
“Good, because I want to do that with you again too.”
I smiled and settled against him. “I guess we still have to wait for your knot to go down though, even if you’re not inside me.”
He laughed. “Yeah, but I don’t mind. It means more time to cuddle.”
“Sounds like perfection.”

~October~
“You look great,” my sister, April, said as she adjusted my tie.
I smiled. “Thank you for being here.”
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world. My brother’s getting married.”
“I’ve been married once before.”
“Shh. We’re not talking about that.”
I took a deep breath and nodded. She was right. It wasn’t the day to talk about it.
“Are Mama and Dad ok?” I asked as I shrugged on my suit jacket.
“Technically, but I’ve gone almost completely no-contact with them.”
“Why?”
“Because of how they treated you, Mama especially. You were hurting and needed their support, but they cast you aside. Can you believe that they don’t even know where you live?”
“I never told them where I was moving.”
“Well I sure as hell wasn’t gonna clue them in once I realized. If they can’t be arsed to get an address, then it’s clear where their priorities lie.”
I sighed.
April hugged me. “I’m here for you though. That’s what matters. Fuck them if they can’t see what an amazing man you are.”
“Thanks,” I replied, hugging her back.
There was a knock on the door, then Sean, the mate of Chase’s friend Lowell, stuck his head in. “They’re ready whenever you are.”
I looked at the mirror again, and nodded. “I’m ready.”
He smiled at me. “See you out there.”
“I’m glad you found the man you deserve,” April said as we left the small room and headed towards the chapel.
I’d been nervous about finding a new church at first, remembering how my old one had convinced me that my infertility was God’s punishment; that I was a failure as an omega. But I found a congregation that was warm and accepting. It had been the last thing I needed on my path of recovery, and the priest had been delighted when I asked him to perform Chase’s and my wedding ceremony.
April and I stopped at the doors, which opened a moment later.
