“Don’t hold back,” I growled, nibbling his ear. “I want to feel you.”

I drove in hard to emphasize my point, and that was all it took. Theo screamed and his muscles tightened around my cock as he came.

“That’s it,” I rumbled in his ear, slowing so that I could prolong his orgasm. “It feels so good with you coming around me.”

I took a deep breath as pulses of pleasure continued through him, barely managing to keep from knotting. Then, just as I felt his orgasm start to wane I drove deep again and allowed my knot to lock us together.

Theo cried out again as a second orgasm crashed through him, and I growled against his bonding point, desperately keeping myself from claiming him right then.

Mine…

I squeezed my eyes shut, forcing the instinct away. Finally I rested my forehead against his shoulder, relishing the final pulses of him around me. Then I turned us onto our sides and tilted his face so that I could kiss him.

Part of me wanted to hold him and discuss the future. Unfortunately I was exhausted after the long day, and I felt him quickly tiring in my arms. So instead I pulled some blankets over us so that we could sleep instead.

Theo settled into my embrace, and was asleep within minutes, snoring lightly.

He was so beautiful, and he was mine.

I nuzzled into his neck so that I could savor his scent in my dreams, and I dozed off while trying to decide where to take him for breakfast and wondering if I could convince him to join me for a long weekend in Paris once Wes and Cody returned from their honeymoon.

It was only our first night together, but I knew in my heart that I had found my mate.

Theo’s scent still filled my nose as I woke, but I soon realized that it lacked the warmth of his presence.

I opened my eyes and looked around for my omega, but he wasn’t in the bedroom and the sheets were cool where he would have been.

I climbed from the bed and padded into the en suite, wondering if he had decided to shower, but he wasn’t there either. Frowning, I decided to check the kitchen, but it was similarly empty.

I wandered through Wes’s house, looking for Theo, but eventually had to admit that I was the only one there when I saw that his car was missing from the driveway.

Had he had an appointment? Had something come up?

I returned to the bedroom and pulled my phone from my pants, cursed when I saw that the battery had run out overnight, and plugged in the nearest charger. I turned it on as soon as it showed one percent battery and, upon seeing no texts from Theo, composed one to him.

I snarled when I received a ‘delivery unsuccessful’ notification moments later.

“Fine,” I huffed. “I’ll call instead.”

I hit the call button, but was immediately greeted with a recorded message stating that his number was out of the calling area.

Something felt wrong. I bolted to Wes’s office, where I’d seen a landline phone. I picked it up and entered Theo’s number.

It rang several times until it went to voicemail.

He blocked my number?

I didn’t know why, but it was the only explanation for my call and text to not go through, while the office phone worked.

I slumped onto Wes’s desk chair.

Theo had blocked me.

I’d lost my mate, and I didn’t have a clue as to why.
