Chapter 11 - David
It was hard to concentrate and be serious when Alan kept sliding his foot up and down my calf. It took all my willpower to keep my cock soft and all I wanted was to let my alpha drag me to his bedroom and spend the rest of the night knotting me.
Don’t think about his knot…I scolded myself, and immediately failed. It was a fantastic knot, pressing inside in ways that kept my toes curled until it released. I might have been just a bit addicted to sex with the handsome alpha.
I didn’t spend every night at his house, but it was often enough in the three weeks since we’d gotten together that they’d made room for my car in the garage so that it wasn’t out on the street overnight.
I pulled my leg away from his foot and sighed. “Alan… we need to finish this.”
He gave me a playful grin. “But you’re so much more tempting.”
“Then pay attention so we can move onto more interesting things.”
He chuckled. “Is that what we’re calling it now?”
“Just because Victor’s in the next room.”
“Thanks for that!” Victor yelled from where he was reading in the library, off for the night unless needed.
I laughed. I was still getting used to Victor living there as well, now that I spent so many evenings with Alan. But I realized how much my alpha had grown to depend on his friend, and there was a camaraderie between them that rarely showed during working hours.
My stomach twisted. Alan and I had gone on several dates, and he’d accompanied me on random errands just so we could spend time together. But part of me wondered if I’d have to keep that same separation of personal and professional.
Alan sighed and gave me a soft smile. “Ok. The dinner will be for a handful of executives from the local children’s art charity, plus their mates.”
I nodded and scribbled on my notepad, already thinking of dishes that were colorful and potentially whimsical. I doodled a couple plating ideas.
“How many?” I asked, wondering if I should use round or square plates.
“Five, plus mates.”
“So, with you that makes eleven,” I stated, noting the count at the top of the sheet.
“Actually… twelve.”
I glanced up. “I thought you said five plus mates. Is somebody in a poly relationship?”
Alan shook his head and took my hand. “I know you’re the chef, but I want you there too, as my omega. I’ll get extra kitchen help to make it happen.”
My heart stopped in my chest. My alpha wanted me there? “You… want me to join you at the dinner party?” I asked.
Alan nodded, then reached over and tugged me onto his lap. “I don’t want you to feel like a secret. I can court you however long you want, we have time. But if you’re ready, I’d like to start including you when I host or attend functions.”
I bit my lip. “You’re not worried about a ruined reputation? I’m just a chef after all.”
He laughed. “I think happiness is more important than a few stuck-up people thinking you’re below me. They’re wrong anyway. It’s how good a person is that determines true worth, not wealth, and in that respect you’re far too good for me.”
I smiled and rested my head against his chest.
“So does that mean you’ll be my plus one at my party?”
I nodded. “I’d love to.”
“I’m glad. Just tell me how many assistants you’ll need that day to get everything done so you can join me. That’s assuming you still want to cook. I can hire a caterer if you prefer.”
I smiled. “You think I’d let you hire a caterer?”
He kissed my hair. “No, but I had to give you the option. You being there with me is more important than you cooking the meal.”
